Capítulo 188: Not Regretful

Maximus said nothing. He looked at Alexandra and rubbed the small of her back. She didn't see any anger or disappointment, but only curiosity on his face. She could understand that he wants her to elaborate on why she did what she did.

"When we were fighting Morfan, some of Inanis' darkness mingled with your soul. You were already filled with thoughts of vengeance and it was easy for Inanis to…" she let out a sigh. "Back then, I contained your darkness inside a spell so that no more of your soul could get corrupted, but…"

"Oh?" he raised his brows. And his face twitched a bit as he was ashamed of himself. "I see…" 

His hold on her waist tightened and he pulled her closer to him. 

"It was I who invited Inanis to…" he let out a long sigh.
