Stupid Father! I cursed internally while making my way around the biggest packhouse I had ever seen.

I heard people talking about how this was the heart of the Bluemoon pack a long time ago before I was born, when many werewolves were united under Damiano Testa, the greatest Supreme Alpha of our kind.

Many believed that this Supreme Alpha was Damiano's son, Mateo. Wasn't he supposed to be dead or something? My father got a hint of a chance to suck up to someone powerful and here we were.

'He was thinking about your best interest,' my wolf, Varya, said.

My best interest? You wanted to say, his best interest. I was just a token to exchange in this endless power-grabbing game.

How could he call himself an Alpha? And why did he scold me like it was my fault that the Supreme Alpha stopped accepting visitors?
