Capítulo 8: Mom's POV

KAGA'S MOM POV-

Everything was all smiles and warm within this household but it has started to change slowly, and I had only noticed something was off, but could only realize it too late.

The thing that has been plaguing my mind over the years with uncertainty was actually our daughter, our very own.

When I look back at everything that has happened, all my worries point toward the car ride after we brought Kaga back from the hospital and how she voiced her thoughts of being a Hero.

Everyone including me brushed it off as simply a child's fantasy and when we reached home I and Ryu had a talk about her future, and we both agreed that the Hero's career wasn't something we want our daughter to pursue.

After my talk with my husband, we decided to scrap the idea of building her an outside training hall to try and slowly get the idea of being a Hero out of her thoughts.

Which we are wholly regretting now, when our daughter was still young she would always talk about things that related to quirks, heroes, and training.

But I and my husband would always shift the topic elsewhere or just come up with an excuse to not talk about it, my daughter has always been an intelligent child since her baby days and I had a feeling that she had an inkling of what we were doing.

This dragged on for years until we barely had conversations anymore, and with my ability to sense emotions I could feel my daughter suppressing hers whenever at home, we would only be greeting each other whenever we see one another.

To further solidify my assumptions, whenever little Shoto would come to visit he would always mouth off of how lively Kaga is outside or at school.

But it hurts deep inside when he describes her like the incarnate of energy when she is right in front of me sitting down like a behaved girl...the perfect girl for most families...but not for us.

It pains me and I miss my daughter, maybe we shouldn't have thrown her ideas under the rug and hoped that they would disappear, we should have supported her instead to become strong enough so that our worries are not needed.

We had become so detached from each other that she doesn't come to us for help anymore, and just decided to ask Sebas for the things she needed, and we would always get a report from him on what Kaga orders him to do.

Her first odd request was when she asked Sebas to help her little friend who from the report and information gathered by Sebas showed that she was being neglected and treated as an abomination.

The first time I read the report I was immediately angered by it and just told Sebas to do as he sees fit, during these things I am proud that our little Kaga is so kind to help others but the person she asked for help from was different from what everyone expected.

Her next odd request was when she requested for a certain person to be her assistant, and immediately I and my husband wanted to question Kaga about it but in the end, we couldn't as Kaga was just too quiet, the quietness was almost like a barrier.

Instead, we told Sebas to run a background check on the person Kaga requested for and the moment that he appears to be dirty we would have to decline her want.

Though surprisingly the man was clean and he just works at a convenience store, but his quirk intrigued us, his quirk allows him to make a copy of anyone and we started to think that maybe our daughter is interested in the use of his quirk we thought, and our thoughts were proven right when she started to 'train' the man in how to use his quirk properly and with caution.

Although during this time our daughter tried speaking to us again...but this time more direct on being a Hero, and yet again we pushed it under our thoughts as we didn't know how to say no or we couldn't.

And that is when I sensed a shift in her emotions, from what I could feel she was sad and angered at the same time, but what was shocking was that her facial features didn't even change and she left shortly afterward.

I couldn't help but cry at how different my daughter was compared to before, you could always tell what she was feeling especially when you see how her tails and ears move...but now they don't even sway to her emotions anymore.

But what soon confused us further was when Sebas reported to us that Kaga wanted to open a bank account; one that had no connections to us meaning she would be handling it all by herself.

We started thinking about why would she need a bank account when she doesn't even earn anything, she also has stopped asking for anything since a long time ago, from money, gadgets to food.

She would only remain passive on everything and even on Christmas and her birthdays, we couldn't even find out what she wanted or even needed. She would just say "Thank you, Mother/Father" with a slight bow and walk off.

Those types of situations ate me and my husband from the inside as at that point we already realized that we don't know our daughter anymore, her wants, likes, dislikes, and even hobbies as she always seems to disappear at home.

(Kaga is in her storage space training)

We were not the only ones affected by this even her grandparents were given the formal type of treatment, almost as if you would talk to someone you just met.

Later on, we soon found out why Kaga needed a bank account and Sebas also stated how Kaga didn't want anyone apart from him from knowing.

Kaga apparently drew up an entire manga series and submitted it to a Manga Publishing Studio, and she even managed to acquire a great deal on the contract.

I and my husband being curious parents decided to read them out of curiosity and we were astonished, we found out something new that we didn't know about our daughter after reading the manga.

Our daughter was talented in drawing and was a genius in making a story, we were happy to find out something about her but saddened about how we found out about it. We decided to not do anything and respect her wishes as we didn't want to worsen the current atmosphere.

Months later, Kaga's manga became a huge hit all throughout Japan and even started to slowly spread throughout the globe, and yet Kaga still acted as if nothing big happened.

Though from what we noticed ever since she started to earn money or even months prior to it, she has started to have dinner at the Todoroki Household and lessened the times she would eat at home when it's usually the only time we can see her due to school...and it's lessened even further.

Dinner at that point just felt cold for me and Ryu as if we just lost a daughter, so we tried asking Kaga why she kept visiting and having dinner at the Todoroki Household she simply said that there were more kids there and just continued on with what she was doing.

I don't even know what to do anymore, even her father who is not good at sensing emotions could blatantly tell that she was lying.

At that moment we realized that our actions of avoiding what our daughter wants to obviously tell us made her avoid us too. We didn't want to lose our daughter to some villain and yet we lost her anyway.

*Ring*

I checked the phone to see who was calling and it was Sebas, our butler but also a shadow guard for her. "Hello? What needs my attention, Sebas?", I asked as he usually doesn't call.

"Fine day to you Madam, I would just like to inform you that the Young Miss would not be having dinner at home again and it seems she will be bringing home a little girl that she found. It would seem she is rather fond and attached to the girl already"

Listening to his words I was once again saddened for having a quiet dinner table, even having her there is already many times better even if she doesn't speak to us.

But I was drawn towards the other part, 'Kaga will be bringing home a little girl, better prepare a room then', I thought immediately and just told Sebas to come back and simply thanked him for the report.

*beep*

"Hah...I hope something changes...I miss my emotional Kaga", I said to myself before heading towards an old storage room where pictures of Kaga are placed to reminisce of the past.
