Well that was a hectic few years of training and onboarding. To put it succinctly, the last fourteen months were a whirlwind of learning and working in the Systems department.
Now I had my first probationary assignment. First of hopefully three. There could be more or less assignments depending on my performance, but all in all, it would be the usual three.
All three would be different.
One would be an in-person system for a person in dire straits. A native soul of that world/universe. A guiding hand if you will. Providing assistance and perks to someone in way over their head.
The other assignments would have me be a system for a reincarnated soul. One as an in-person/sentient system. One as a system manager.
I am honestly looking forward to being a system manager. Field work is for the interns. Maybe that's why I'm doing it. Also living in some idiot's head does not appeal to me.
I honestly wouldn't mind if it was someone in a really shitty situation, not of their own making. A native of that world. But doing it for some reincarnated cunt, hell no. Well, not if I couldn't fuck with them.
Our training included several scenarios. Systems for reincarnates was by far the most extensive. The sheer amount idiocy they would display within the first few months was insane. In a few years you basically have a puppet doing your bidding. They kill who you want, fuck who you want, and die when you want.
Most people who do this are usually contracted by the adult side of the entertainment industry. It's usually some angel who runs the system. Much easier to send a powerful soul into hell when you were the one to feed it full of sin. It's seen as a shitty way to gain power in Hell. Especially as someone in middle management. The lower level employees and administration are free to do as they please on their leave. The angels are not the sanctimonious pricks one would think them to be. They are just normal-ish people who are subject to really stringent rules. They gotta let loose once in a while.
The ones who decide to be a guiding hand are actually the admins from Hell. They just want to be able help some poor souls, and start punishment of a soul well before it reaches Hell. Where they will take charge of it. They love targeting child and animal abusers. It's surprising how many of them there are in Hell.
Speaking of animals, I'd adopted a few cats. Big cats, but cats nonetheless. There's this one species of cat that looks like a fluffy ocelot, but it's the size of a house. They were so cute and fluffy! I'd wanted to get a dog or two but my work commitments did not currently permit me to take proper care of them. The cats stay in their natural habitats on the reservation. They by no means are pets. That did not stop me from petting one. It was knocked out for medical reasons but still. So fluffy!
'Ahem'
So the first assignment type I have chosen is a "guiding hand" scenario. I basically attach to a native of that world and assist them in overcoming the many challenges they will be facing over their life. The downside is, I am now a field agent. I basically posses the body of whomever and reside with them until they die. Which can be several decades to several centuries. I can abort the assignment due to the host being a dunce, or if my manager decides I've done a decent enough job and and some new trainee needs a more hands on approach.
We did that in training, as well, we'd switch with an agent in the field for a few weeks at a time. I was very stingy in giving out rewards overall, so that may have favourably impacted my ratings in the entertainment department. I was one of the few trainees, who people watched.
I really liked to fuck over reincarnators. They were an entitled bunch of cunts who needed a reality check. I was only too happy to oblige. Giving shitty rewards. Taking a hundredth of a second longer to provide a weapon or shield, rescaling their skill mastery, instead of linear it was logarithmic, with an asymptote at 100.001%, things like that. Basically knocking them down a peg, or ten.
With native souls, it tried to be a teacher rather than just spoon-feeding them the answers or solutions. I did not like this as much. I really did not want to posses an abused child's body and make them do things according to plot. I really liked it when through their own ingenuity they flipped the board and started playing a different game.
One such example was of a Jon Snow, the original manager was basically promoting his physical skills to a point where if he was older, he would be able to wipe the floor with everyone. I came along and made him into a spellblade. It was so much fun! What's a few dozen bandits sacrificed to the greater good? I also tempered his approach to life. Then had him fuck off to Essos. He killed his aunt and uncle, and became the Emperor of Essos. And lived miserably ever after.
Once a brooding edge-lord. Always a brooding edge-lord.
I hope my first assignment has someone who's not a complete dunce.
