Chapter 5- Exam Site
Sachiko was taken straight to the exam site along with her new friends. They arrived at Zaban city in the morning.
Sachiko took in the scene of Zaban city with plenty of stalls alongside the road , selling all kinds of things. 'The scene looks just like in the manga.'
Gon excitedly goes around, looking everything with curious eyes.
"What do you think you're doing, Gon? Let's go." Leorio called out distracted Gon.
"Right!" Gon ran over to them with a nod.
After walking for a few more minutes, they stopped in front of a tall building.
"Here we are. I'm pretty sure that is the building." Navigator said as he pointed to a building.
Gon, Kurapika and Leorio's eyes sparkled and looked at the tall building in amazement as they thought that was the exam site. Sachiko looked at them with an amused look.
"Hey guys! Over here." Navigator said, the three looked at the building navigator was actually pointed to.
It was a normal restaurant which didn't look really impressive.
"Come on, you're messing with us, right? That just looks like a regular restaurant. You're telling me that hunter applicants from all over the globe to come to this old dive to take the exam?" Leorio complained.
"That's exactly right." Navigator nodded his head.
"Huh?" The three exclaimed.
"No one would expect the exam to be held here, right?" Navigator asked with a chuckle.
"Good point." Leorio nodded.

They entered the restaurant and navigator ordered three steak combos. It actually was the password, Sachiko remembered.
"We don't actually get to eat steak?" Sachiko whined after getting into the elevator. Before that, she made sure to go change at the restroom. How she got the clothes was simple, she stole some while walking by the stalls earlier. Gon nodded with a pout.
"Next year, I hope I can help you again. " Navigator said, shaking Gon's hand.
"That old man expects us to fail." Leorio groaned.
"Well, they say it's not easy to pass the exam." Sachiko said with a chuckle. "Man, I'm really excited to pass the exam now. Bet that's gonna be so cool."
"Once in three years." Kurapika said, "That's how often a rookie passes the exam."
"It's that unusual?" Gon asked.
"It is." Kurapika answered. "Some can't handle it. It's too mentally and physically taxing. It's not also too uncommon for veterans to break rookies so badly that they wouldn't dare to retake the test."
"Seems like a fun time to crush those veterans." Sachiko said enthusiastically.
The three looked at her with an 'Are you serious?' look.
"What? I wanna have fun too!" Sachiko said.
"For me, I want to be a hunter even more now. Imagine the money that comes with it!" Leorio said.
"Yeah, that too. I'm gonna have a lot of money. I will buy a big mansion with a large swimming pool and eat gourmet food everyday." Sachiko said.
"Being hunter is not all about that! True hunters work tirelessly to maintain order in society as well as nature." Kurapika lectured them.
"That's boring." Sachiko said, "I like the money part better. And maybe some adventures because I need my life to be still fun."
"What about you, Gon? Which side are you?" Leorio asked.
Gon looked at the three and sweatdropped, in a dilemma. Fortunately for him, the elevator stopped at that moment, the numbers indicating the floor stopping at B 100.
When the door opened, Sachiko stepped out in style. She was now wearing a crop top paired with a black jacket and a black skirt with thigh-high stockings. She was also wearing ankle-high boots with heels. She knew the test included running but she would rather run in style.
As soon as they stepped out of the elevator, many eyes fell onto them, especially Sachiko. Some veterans were thinking there was no way she would pass the exam, dressing like that. Well, she was wearing heels and skirt. She looked like she didn't know how hard the exam was going to be and they didn't think she could even move around comfortably in those. She also looked like she was blind in one eye.
"I know I'm gorgeous." Sachiko said aloud, leaving the trio dumbfounded.
"I don't think that's the point? You know this is hunter's exam, right? What if your heels limit your movement?" Kurapika said.
"I don't think it will. I can run pretty well in these." Sachiko replied.
She then took her badge and pinned it to her croptop. Her number was 406, Leorio was 403, Kurapika 404 and Gon 405.
As soon as she wore the batch, she heard the system notification.
'Host has been detected to be a participant in Hunter's exam. Mission issued.
Mission : Pass hunter's exam and become a hunter. Rewards : one chance to spin Lucky Wheel, random cursed tool and system upgrade.
Sub mission : Pass the first round of hunter's exam. Reward : Random item.'
Sachiko was pleasantly surprised. She was taking hunter's exam because it's convenient now. She didn't expect to get rewards if she passed the exam.
'I definitely have to pass.' Sachiko thought.
'Right , what do you mean by upgrade system?'
'System upgrades can be gained as a reward and after upgrades, host will get more features and get things in system with lower price.'
'Like upgrading my skills with lower points?'
'Yes.'
'I see.'
Sachiko nodded and then took a glance at the other participants. Everyone looked like veterans here, but she knew not even half of them would pass the first round.
When she was lost in thoughts, a man came and introduced himself to the group.
"I don't think I've seen you guys before. I'm Tonpa."
'Here comes the laxative guy! Time to mess with him! hehe.' Sachiko thought, slowly reaching into her pocket to get an empty can she picked up for this.
"I am Nakamura Sachiko. Nakamura's my surname." Sachiko said.
"I am Gon!"
"Kurapika."
"Leorio."
The other three also introduced themselves.
"How do you know we are new here?" Gon asked.
"This is my thirty fifth attempt so it comes with territory."
"Thirty fifth attempt?" Gon, Kurapika and Leorio exclaimed.
"Well, you can say I'm a veteran in hunter's exam." Tonpa said.
'I wouldn't really be proud of it.' Leorio thought.
'It's time!'
Sachiko smiled and said, "Then , you must know a lot about hunter's exam! Can you share us some tips?"
Looking at her enthusiastic, Tonpa said proudly, "I will tell you. This exam is not something rookies can pass. Every year, exam elements changes. Not even veterans could be fully prepared."
Sachiko looked interested, her right eye literally sparkling and said, "Can you tell us some of your insight? As a veteran teaching rookies, of course."
"Well..." Seeing Sachiko so excited, Tonpa started, "That one year..."
While he was talking, Sachiko handed him a drink, "You must be thirsty after explaining all these to us, rookies. Here, please have a drink."
Tonpa laughed proudly and half-emptied the can.
'This young girl is really naive to believe everything I say, huh?'
Before he could even finish his thought, Tonpa felt his stomach was on a non-stop rollercoaster. His eyes widened and looked at the can Sachiko gave to him.
"Oh, that's right, that's the can you were planning to give us. I just took off the lable and replaced it with a can I brought." Sachiko showed an empty can she picked up.
"How did you know...?!" Tonpa asked as he tried his best not to purge it all out onto the floor.
"Seems like you will need a diaper, old man." Sachiko said with a giggle before leaving Tonpa, "Come on, guys. Old man's gonna sh*t himself all over the floor. We should get to somewhere it won't smell."
Seconds after they left, Tonpa lost it, staining his pants with the substance.
"Look at the famous rookie crusher, Tonpa. He really got a taste of his own medicine this time." Other veterans started to laugh at Tonpa's misery.
"Speaking of that, that girl doesn't look simple." One said.
Hisoka turned to look at Sachiko's direction as Tonpa's misery caused quite a commotion. Sachiko stared at Hisoka with a straight face, then winked.
A hint of interest flashed in Hisoka's eyes.
'Maybe this entrance exam won't be boring.'
