Capítulo 285: Chapter (Two Hundred) Eighty Four: Coffee

Becca was certain she had been staring at the same page of the documents in her hand for over thirty minutes, reading the first line so many times the words started blurring together. Coupled with the lack of sleep, she was feeling the beginnings of a migraine. Navaya was in the room with her, looking through a different stack of paperwork. They were the only ones in the office.

Her assistant brought in two cups of coffee a few minutes ago and set them down on the wooden desk before leaving. Without looking at them, Becca reached for one of the cups. Her fingers curled around the rim but her grip was so loose that when she lifted the cup, it ended up tipping to the side, splashing scalding liquid all over her hand. She hissed in pain, dropping the cup before more coffee could spill out. Her clothes weren't stained, which was a relief. She pulled out a napkin from the box on her desk and swiped her hand clean then patted at the spilled coffee drops on her desk.
