Capítulo 36: The First to Compliment

"Are you sure you're not attending?" Tian Zi asked Jonathan. Both he and Fyre were already prepared to leave but Jonathan was still there in his T-shirt and Sweats eating milk and cereal for breakfast. It was clear he had no plan of attending the wedding even though he was one of the groom's men.
"Yes, I won't be attending without Remi because I'm positive I would just end up escorting Margarette," Jonathan replied dejectedly. He has been waiting for Remi's call since last night and this morning but she never called. This just means that his lover hasn't forgiven him yet and she still needed more time.But Jonathan does understand because his confession was so rushed. He couldn't blame Remi for this.
"If I go now, I might not be able to talk to her again, I would be sent back if my sister caught me," Jonathan added. He didn't care if Fyre would see him as a coward but he grew up with his sister and no one knew her best except him and the rest of their direct family. Marjorie had always been the most dominant in the family and even their parents would listen to her advice. Even though she's the middle child and didn't receive a title, she's the one that cared the most about the family reputation and she would do anything to keep the way it is now.
"You're really an idiot!" Fyre rolled his eyes. That very comment quickly made Jonathan's heart throb in pain but still, he accepted that he's useless. He's simply helpless when it comes against his family.
Fyre stared at Jonathan's depressed appearance. The Alpha's head is sunken down while his back is hunched. He had deep dark bags under his eyes and his face hadn't been shaven for days. Even though there was still no doubt that he's a handsome man, with his appearance now, he had lost his aristocrat deportment in an instant. Looking at all this, Fyre sighed deeply and soon walked towards his friend and flicked his fingers against the Alpha's forehead.
Jonathan was caught off guard and even though it didn't hurt, he held his forehead and looked at Fyre in confusion, clearly wondering why the Omega had done that to him.
"Trust Remi. She loves you. Yes, she's hurt right now but she's brave. One thing I really know about her is that she doesn't give up that easily. She fights in her own way and I know as long as you're with her, she will continue to fight and you should too. Even though she hasn't called you, I'm sure she'll come so don't be depressed and man up. If you aren't brave to face your sister, then just fake it. Didn't you hear the saying fake it till you make it? You're a big and strong Alpha so act like it. Don't be such a loser," Fyre encouraged despite him sounding as if mocking the Alpha half of his encouraging speech.
Meanwhile, listening to Fyre, Jonathan stared at the Omega with obvious awe. He was unable to say anything for good seconds before he finally chuckled, his cheeks slightly blushed feeling so touched at the message.
"I didn't know you have so much faith in me," Jonathan continued to chuckle before he stood up and suddenly held both of Fyre's hands. As for Tian Zi who was watching this, his brows slightly frown, however, he remained silent patiently waiting for the two.
"I honestly don't have that much so don't you dare blow it up!" Fyre warned, squinting his eyes towards the Alpha. Last night, he ended up deciding to avoid both Tian Zi and Jonathan. However, today he will put up with them one last time. Because even though he hated to admit it, he could definitely feel the affection Jonathan had for Remi. So just this time, he decided to trust the Alpha one more time because he wanted Remi to be happy. After this, he will slowly distance himself and finally let Remi pursue all her choices. And whether she will end up happy or not, he will always be there to support her. He would not interfere again since Jonathan had proven himself enough for him to believe.
"Thank you. Thank you so much," Jonathan whispered gratefully before suddenly pulling Fyre into a bear hug. Fyre was caught off guard but he didn't struggle and instead decided to let it pass and hugged the Alpha back.
"Ehemmm, we're already an hour late," Tian Zi interrupted, clearing his voice. He didn't know why but he suddenly got irritated watching the two hug so he found himself interrupting the supposedly touching moment.
"Right! And actually, Remi called me earlier this morning. She was worried she would be criticized if she attended the wedding so you have to go see her now and assure her that you will be by her side no matter what. Tian Zi and I will let his Older Brother know," Fyre said, pulling away from the hug which Jonathan simply replied with a nod and later proceeded to run off. Fyre watched the Alpha disappear from his sight and he shook his head helplessly, suddenly thinking how nice it would be if he had a person that would love him just like how Jonathan loved Remi.
He had never fallen in love with someone in particular. He once had a crush when he was young but that only caused his body to react differently and resulted in making trouble for everyone back then. Since then, he tried his best to distance himself because he knew, depending on his emotions, things could get much more complicated. A simple crush almost caused him to experience something traumatic, what more if he fell in love? He didn't even want to think about it. His body simply could not handle strong emotions such as love.
"What are you thinking?" Tian Zi asked, his deep Alpha voice resonated in the silent room instantly waking Fyre from his thoughts. He glanced at Tian Zi's attractive features, staring at him. He honestly didn't pay attention to it at first but looking at the Alpha now, he couldn't deny how handsome the young man was. His suit seats perfectly against his well-defined body structure. One look at him anyone could tell he had taken good care of his body that he would look so good even with just simple khaki short pants, long sleeves, and crocs.
Mo Tian Zi looked extremely similar to his two older brothers except that he lacks that mature demeanor of a 30-year-old man, however, he clearly still does not fall behind when it comes to character and charisma. He's unique and charming in his own way even though he's a little bit annoying most of the time.
"You look handsome," Fyre blurted out with a smile. He may hate Tian Zi sometimes but he still does appreciate true beauty.
"W-What?" Tian Zi stuttered in shock, blood quickly rushed into his head. He absolutely didn't expect a compliment from the Omega and he couldn't stop himself from immediately blushing hearing such a compliment.
Now that he thought about it, no one had ever told him he was handsome before. Most people would just say he looked extremely similar to his Older Brothers so he had no tolerance when it comes to compliments. Fyre caught him completely off guard that he's now flabbergasted. Definitely out of his character.
"I said you're handsome. Come on! Don't tell me it was your first time to hear someone say that to you?" Fyre asked with a chuckle, seeing the big, mighty, and prideful Alpha surprisingly blushing at a simple compliment.
". . ." Meanwhile, not saying anything as he continued to blush. Tian Zi naturally couldn't think of words to reply. He was honestly not aware. There could be a chance that Fyre was just playing with him but he still couldn't help but feel a little overwhelmed. He watched himself in the mirror all the time but he honestly does not see himself as handsome or attractive in the slightest because he believed his face was too common. This is why he worked so hard to maintain his ideal body to make up for it.
Of course, in reality, he only thinks his face was common because it runs in their genes, when in fact most people would rate his face 1000 out of 10. The only reason he hasn't gathered attention as much as Mo Laotian and Mo Hanly was because he was a weird kid growing up and until now people find it difficult to approach him.
"Are you seriously blushing right now? What are you? Maiden at heart? Why are you blushing being called handsome?" Fyre laughed heartily. He would never believe someone like Mo Tian Zi wouldn't think himself attractive. Growing up with a silver spoon in his mouth, Tian Zi had been in a spotlight since he was a baby. There was just no way he hadn't grown being fed with compliments left and right.
"S-Shut up! You're so annoying!" Tian Zi stuttered again, still couldn't think of anything for a comeback so he abruptly left acting angry, wanting to escape such an overwhelming situation.
"Hey, wait! Why are you suddenly angry with me? I complimented you, you know. You should know that's rare even for me," Fyre yelled following Tian Zi as he laughed.
"Shut up! I'm not angry. I'm just in a rush because Older Brother keeps texting me to hurry up," Tian Zi said with an annoyed expression, finding it convenient to bring up Hanlu's impatient texts and missed calls.
"Hmmp. Fine. I want this to get over with anyway," Fyre scuffs, crossing his arms together as he continues to follow the Alpha. Since he had always been the first one to lose his temper, he didn't want to start his day in a bad mood especially when he already had a big one yesterday.
No longer talking as he silently stood next to the Alpha while riding the elevator down. Tian Zi peeked at Fyre briefly before he faced the front again with a little blush on his flawless cheeks.
"Y-You too. You look stunning," Tian Zi suddenly commented and on cue, the elevator door opened allowing Tian Zi to escape in an instant. Meanwhile, it was his turn to be caught off guard, Fyre frowned watching the Alpha's marching figure.
"That fucking bastard! What does he mean stunning? He should have said I'm handsome too!" Fyre mumbled to himself, his face shifting in grimace before he soon rushed to follow Tian Zi again. Fyre asked Tian Zi what he was talking about being 'stunning' however, Tian Zi was already too embarrassed to give an explanation so ended up saying he was only giving back the compliment and that he didn't really think that way. Because of this, the ride to Mo Hanlu's residence where the morning event was being held was silent.
Even when the both of them arrived and got out of the car, Tian Zi and Fyre decided to ignore each other. Well, at least it looked that way but Tian Zi would never get too far from Fyre not wanting the last time to happen again. Even when Fyre was surrounded by his family, he didn't stray too far away. It was the first gathering he attended where he never suddenly vanished out of thin air. At the same time, this will also be the first time where he will catch the attention he never wished for from the beginning.
Being the only Mo Brother that was young and unmarried. He was bound to soon experience what he thought was hell.
