Capítulo 477: CH109 (473), We Did It (2)

Dad managed to advance to the Second-Class of Tier 1 a few months ago, which was not bad overall. It took him a bit more than 1.5 years to go from Third-Class to Second-Class, which was above average if we took into account that elemental training was just a side hustle for him.

His calling as a trainer was still his main focus, and he had to fulfill his duty as an Ace-Class trainer since he wanted to remain an active one, which meant occasionally taking on a mission or helping out in case of a nearby emergency.

Well, Dad's goal, for now, was to rank up to Elite Class, and he bragged that he wanted to do it before I won my first official league tournament, which gave him 3 years since I was planning to finish the whole junior league phase in my first year, even if I had to change regions to do it.

Dad wanted to take part in the next grand league tournament, which would be his first, as an Elite-Class trainer instead of an Ace-Class one. The tournament was in 5 years, at the same time I was planning on winning the Senior-Class tournament, so he had at most 2 extra years in case he failed his first goal, or he would fail his second one as well.

Still, I was sure that he had a pretty good chance of reaching at least one of his goals. He was not too far off from the main conditions for the Elite Class, which obviously pertained to the strength of one's Pokemon. The minimum requirement was a minimum of 8 dark gold stage Pokemon.

6 of those Pokemon had to be at least at the (mid) dark gold stage, with 3 of them needing to be at the (high) dark gold stage. The reason that the additional 2 Pokemon were required aside from the standard team of 6 was to serve as a reserve in case one of the 6 Pokemon became unavailable for a period due to various reasons.

The alliance had to be sure that Elite Class trainers were always above a certain level, or that they could at least regain that level in short order. As for Dad, he currently had 6 Pokemon at the dark gold stage, with 4 being at the (mid) dark gold stage, and none having reached the (high) dark gold stage. Though I was sure that it would not take long until Titan/Nidoking managed to do so.

On another note, Magus/Mismagius had evolved half a year ago, and Drago/Dragonair was not too far off from evolving as well, since he could break through to the gold stage at any time, they were just trying to reach the point where they saw no further progress before doing so. As soon as he did break through, Drago would evolve into Dragonite.

Mom on the other hand was planning to sweep the senior league tournament next year, and considering the strength of her Pokemon, I could not use any other word than sweep. She had 2 dark gold stage Pokemon and she would have had 3, if she did not make use of the limit-breaking training to delay the third one.

She said that she did not want to rank up to Ace-Class without winning the golden trophy. That way at least one of my parents had one at home, and the ones I was going to win would not be lonely. She might have said the last bit as a joke at Dad.

Also, just like Dad, Mom also had two Pokemon that evolved during this period. Her Zubat evolved into Golbat and was at the (high) bronze stage, while her Lairon evolved into Aggron and was still at the (high) silver stage. As was her Mimikyu, and the three of them were currently her weakest Pokemon.

Anyway, joke or not, I was happy for both her and Dad, especially since none of their goals conflicted with mine. I would have really disliked having to face either of them in one of my tournaments, and by now, I knew I wouldn't have to do so.

Heck, I wouldn't even have to face one of my friends since out of the 5 that had finally started their careers as trainers this year, only one was actually starting in Kanto. That one friend was Rose, and she wasn't even doing the regular trainer journey, but the coordinator one instead.

Rose had won her first ribbon by now, and I had made sure to watch the final round on scene together with her and my parents. She honestly did a great job and I was proud of her for winning her first ribbon within just 3 months of starting her journey.

She still had her original quartet, though her Zubat had evolved to Golbat, and her older trio was ready to break through to the silver stage at any time, so I was optimistic about her chances of winning the Kanto Rookie Festival.

The rookie here was not pertaining to the trainer class, but the fact that they are all emerging coordinators. Everyone below the age of 20 could take part in it, as long as they did not have some other kind of championship experience under their belt.

Regardless, as I said I was optimistic about her chances, and she still had two years until the next festival, so there was more than enough time for her to prepare as well as to gain practical experience, but enough about Rose.

Among the other 4 starters, Ace had probably gone the most distinctive way. He ended up going with the navy choice after all and directly joined the Kanto Navy as an Ensign with the prospect of being promoted to lieutenant after a year of service. Well, as long as he did not mess up.

Still, I did not think that he would do anything that could cost him his promotion. As for any further promotions after the lieutenant rank, Ace had to earn those the regular way like everyone else, but I was sure that he had a semi-clear path ahead of him.

Uncle Roger was a vice admiral on the path to becoming an admiral after all. If anyone knew how Ace could achieve a smooth rise through the ranks, it was Uncle Roger. The focus here was on "achieve", so it still depended on Ace's performance.

Among the final three, Yu had started his journey in Orre just like we previously talked about, and the last time I hear from him, he said his journey was going smoothly. Unlike Yu, Erza chose to start her journey in Rota, her home region, and since she was more driven than Yu as well, she had already earned her first badge.

The same was true for Weiss, who had begun her journey in Johto. She chose to challenge the Flying-type Gym in Violet City first, for obvious reasons, and even though she chose the highest difficulty, she managed to eke out a win. Junior League or not, gaining a 3-Star S-Grade Badge was not easy.

Anyway, aside from those five, a few changes happened for my other friends as well. Kinji had finally decided to leave the northern continent and headed to the western continent after I finished my finals last year. The last time I spoke with him, he told me he was exploring the Glimwood Forest, and he seemed pretty happy.

The Dokuogi siblings were sent to the southern continent by their family and they were not even allowed to share exactly which region they were in. In fact, the most those two had been allowed/managed to share was that they were alive and healthy.

The whole thing was pretty questionable, but none of us had a right to interfere with family/clan business. I was a bit worried about the duo, but they said that they were fine, so all I could do was believe in them and wish them all the best.

Another somewhat unfortunate development was that Yoruichi's long-term mission around Pallet City had been concluded after my finals, so she went back to Rota around the same time that Kinji left for Galar. From the time she left about 8 months ago until now, we had only met up twice, but we did talk occasionally over the phone, and she was still an active member of our chat group, so we were still good friends.

Everyone else was still doing their usual stuff, but Misty did say that she was going to come back to Kanto sometime next year, so I was looking forward to that since it had been nearly half a year since I had last seen her during her brief visits back to Cerulean City.

Things like this made me thankful for the existence of a decent phone. Otherwise, I would be unable to talk or see quite a few of my friends outside of the occasional meet-up that we could arrange sometimes.

Anyway, with my friends settled, only my personal projects were left. Well, the two biggest ones were linked, so I was going to start with them. The construction company was nearly done with the Pokemon habitat, and according to the foreman, they would be able to hand over the "keys" in another 5 months at the latest.

This included the fence/wall I had them put up around the whole plot to discourage criminals or wild Pokemon from entering. At the very least, it was useful as a first line of defense/surveillance since it made it easier to plant cameras. That was important since it was harder to keep an eye on everything than it was to deal with intruders.

Moving on, the project related to the plot was obviously my Rattata project. On that front, I had made some significant progress as well. There were quite a few Rattata that had managed to gain a full affinity and a lot more that managed to raise their affinity to weak, which meant that I still had ample Rattata that were on the way to completion.

Nonetheless, once the required number of Rattata with a full/standard second affinity had reached the (high) bronze stage, I drowned them in supplements of their second affinity and allowed them to evolve under the watchful eyes of everyone else.

Thankfully my plan as well as investments worked out, and they all became variant Raticate. This happened just 3 months ago, and since then the first pair had managed to produce an egg. Well, the egg was still in the female's body, but I had confirmed that she was pregnant.

I was assuming the pregnancy/hatching period for these eggs was the same as that of a regular Rattata/Raticate egg since it was true for the dark/alolan variant. The gestation/pregnancy period for Raticate was 3 to 4 months, so I should be able to actually see the first egg in another 1.5 to 2.5 months.

I was pretty sure the other pairs would manage to hit the jackpot by then as well, and if I was really lucky, a few more Rattata would be able to evolve at that point. If everything went the way I wanted it to, I would have a decently sized group of Raticate as well as Rattata variants by my 5th term, that I could place in the prepared habitat, along with some of the other species.

Though, I would have to apply for a license until then and organize trustworthy employees as well. I was hoping that my recent success at the lab would help with both, or at least the license. As for the employee part, there was no one, aside from my parents, that I would trust more with the habitat and orphanage than Jessie, even if I would need more than just her due to the size of the whole undertaking.

Nonetheless, I was still hopeful that Jessie would agree to work there. She had yet to agree, but she looked interested and had yet to refuse as well, so it could still happen. However, I knew that I needed more, so I would soon have to start putting out my feelers for potential employees if I wanted everything to go smoothly.

The final two projects were related as well. The Sunlight Bellflowers were growing/sprouting perfectly, and the flowers were only a few months away from finally blooming, so I could test whether they worked or not pretty soon. The other project was the Peat Block substitute I researched and developed as a result of the whole Mars issue.

During one of my trips to Mt.Moon, I stayed longer on a day that I knew had a full moon, and after sneaking as far into the mountain range as I could, I found myself a lone gold stage Ursaring and threw my substitute at it to test whether it worked or not. Well, it worked as intended, and the Ursaring evolved to Ursaluna, so I left since the evolution had attracted a few more Ursaring.
