Capítulo 136: VII: Budding relationships Part 1

I didn’t part from my father that day, nor the day after, not even for training which I did under his watchful eye.

All the while, however, my mind kept running through the words that Bao Hu had spoken, zeroed on a single sentence: “She turned from me and I from her, and when I saw the man take the princess, I felt something on the back of my head, and I knew no more.”

I was certain that the maid had played a role in the plan to kidnap me. I knew not to what extent and had no chance to figure it out on my own. Bao Hu would likely be wary of women from now on, and even if I could ask him, wouldn't remembering hurt him too?

‘Is your purpose here not more important than a man’s feelings?’

‘I know. It’s difficult for me to hurt people intentionally.’ The face of the man that kidnapped me came to the forefront of my mind and I shook my head.

‘You hurt that man intentionally, and I didn’t see you hesitate at all while doing so.’

‘I guess I’m just a hypocrite.’
