She was really about to miss it.
"I want to audition. Cameron Cromwell is filming and casting, I have always liked Director Cromwell, I want to act in his film, so I want to audition. Today is the last day, I need to get there soon, can you let me go? I promise not to run away, you can have someone keep an eye on me…"
Audition?
He didn't expect to get that answer, his eyes doubtful as he stared at the woman.
She wanted to be an actress, was she being serious?
Observing carefully, Hallie Morgan was indeed good-looking.
Her cheeks were ivory white, her doe eyes clear and bright, her facial features distinct, her beauty radiant. Her excessively thin figure looked almost weightless, but she exuded determination. Her slender neck connected to a clear collarbone, giving her an enchanting bony look.
Compared with Ally Berg's distinctive and alluring angular face, her face carried an indescribable serenity that demanded lingering attention, which reminded him of a phrase.
Innocently enticing.
His gaze fixed for a moment before he moved his eyes away.
"The money I'm giving you is enough for you to live on, there's no need for you to struggle further. Now go back to your room."
"It's not about the money. I've always dreamed of becoming a good actress. I studied for three years in school and started filming before I even graduated. Although I've been working as an extra since I was 14 without a significant role, I don't mind. I'll not give up everything for your stinking dollars. What would my earlier efforts mean then? You may look down on actors just because you have some money, but you can't stop me from becoming one."
Dylan Collins' eyebrows creased tightly, his eyes dark as ink, glaring intensely at her, overwhelming.
"Have you forgotten about our contract? You're pregnant now. If my grandfather finds out about your reckless misbehavior jeopardizing my plans, how will you compensate?"
She swallowed hard, looking at him, her heartbeat accelerating nervously.
The baby wasn't her choice in the first place!
"Oh, so the Collins family's bloodline is important, but my dream isn't? It's not like I conceived this child by myself. Why should I have to sacrifice my dream for you?"
"Hallie Morgan, I think you're getting cocky!"
He grabbed her clothing, dragging her towards the room.
His demeanor was simply that of a tyrant.
"Let go of me, you jerk!" Hallie Morgan cried in anger. Suddenly, a thought struck her and her expression changed. She pretended to retch.
"Dylan Collins, I'm going to be sick…"
Dylan Collins stiffened, his face turning dark, remembering the previous incident of her throwing up all over him, made him feel weak and disgusted. He just wanted to throw the woman in front of him out.
Hallie Morgan felt his grip loosening, and she ran out without looking back.
"Hallie Morgan!"
Did she dare to trick him? Was he tricked?
Watching her figure disappear into the distance, Dylan Collins felt a tightness in his chest. For the first time, he asked himself what wrong he had done to accidentally bump into such a woman.
Hallie Morgan knew she'd have had it once she returned.
But she had no other choice right now. If she missed the audition, she was even ready to die to prove her innocence.
The audition site was at her company, Starshine International.
Once she arrived, she saw that there was still one hour left, and heaved a sigh of relief.
"Hallie Morgan."
Behind Evelyn Olsen was Linda Collins. Clearly, they had just finished auditioning too.
