Johnson eyes sharpened as he surveyed his surroundings.
The Electromagnetic Machine Gun in his hand was so stable that it seemed to have become one with his body.
As long as he saw the zombie in the next second, he would immediately shoot without hesitation.
However, nothing appeared.
"Did I see wrongly?"
Johnson thought to himself.
Even after three minutes, nothing happened. Johnson then put down his gun.
In this apocalyptic world where danger lurked everywhere, one had to be cautious enough to survive longer.
Johnson knew this very well.
He took a deep breath and headed down the stairs to the next surveillance installation point.
Having seen the map before, he had already planned in his heart which areas near the base that he could install surveillance cameras in, so as to capture all corners.
He was very sure that as long as he installed all these cameras, there would be no blind spots.
The installation continued.
After reaching the roof of the second building, Johnson continued to install the surveillance cameras.
However, this time, he was carefully observing his surroundings as he performed the installation.
While he might have put down his weapon, it didn't mean that he was completely at ease.
It was never wrong to be careful.
Time ticked by.
One by one, the surveillance cameras were installed.
Johnson opened the map from his backpack and examined it carefully, before he nodded in satisfaction.
Every spot marked out had been installed.
The second step was to bring the supplies back to the base.
The resources to be brought back were:
Monitors or television screens that could be used in conjunction with the surveillance cameras, cooking utensils and condiments, as well as more water which could be placed at the base for future purifying.
That was all he had for now. If he found anything he could bring back along the way, he could add that to the list.
After confirming this, Johnson began to walk to the nearby department store.
Johnson couldn't help but emotionally sigh after arriving at the departmental store.
It had to be said that the department store was really convenient.
You could come here if you wished to buy anything.
Of course, there was no need to "purchase" anything in this era.
Johnson went to the shelves and started to put bottles of mineral water into his hiking bag.
They were, of course, black, nuclear-polluted mineral water.
If it was clean, it would not have been left here. It would have been taken away long ago.
After filling the bag with mineral water, Johnson placed the backpack back into the Storage.
He could take it out when he returned to the factory, there was no need to burden himself with it right now.
Monica knew something about his abilities, but Delia wasn't entirely sure yet.
Johnson felt that he could not completely be at ease around Delia yet, at least not until she had been conquered by him.
Therefore, he would try his best to prevent showing off as much as possible.
Johnson took out his other backpack and prepared to head to the kitchen appliances aisle.
He came to a large information panel and began to look through it carefully.
This department store was not small, and the signboard was very detailed. No matter what you wanted to buy, as long as you looked at the panel, you would be able to find it.
However, the downside was, due to its detail, it might take one a few minutes to find out where you could get your items.
Johnson searched for the kitchenware section, at the same time keeping his attention on the surroundings.
After all, no one could be sure if there was any danger lurking in the place.
And yet, while his attention was diverted towards paying attention to his surroundings, the signboard in front of him suddenly cracked.
A long tongue broke through the sign and reached out towards Johnson.
It all happened so suddenly that Johnson had no time to avoid it completely.
Although his neck was not trapped by the tongue, his left wrist could not escape the binding.
Johnson narrowed his eyes with a murderous intent flashing within.
From the hole in the signboard, he could see a zombie covered in green mushrooms staring at him with a sinister smile.
His long tongue was sticky and slimy, but it was also able to tie up his wrist tightly.
Johnson forcibly ignored the disgusting feeling on his wrist and raised his right hand.
The Electromagnetic Machine Gun in the system backpack immediately appeared in his hand.
He planned to kill this long-tongued zombie immediately.
But the next moment, a shocking scene appeared.
The mushrooms on the long-tongued zombie's body started to emit green smoke at the same time.
The smoke was so thick that no one could see what was inside.
The effect was like a military smokescreen!
Johnson's eyes shook in shock, but he pulled the trigger.
Even if he could not see clearly, he could still choose to fire around indiscriminately. After all, the long tongue that tied him up allowed him to confirm that the other party was within the smoke.
As long as he fired randomly, he would eventually kill that zombie.
Light spots condensed on the muzzle and turned into electromagnetic rays that shot towards the thick green smoke.
The next moment, the tongue around Johnson's left hand tightened and dragged Johnson into the smoke.
The power of the long tongue was too great, to the point that Johnson had no chance of resisting.
This was also the reason why he wanted to make the Geocentric Gravity Enhancement Device.
He should have waited until the gravity device was ready before leaving the base.
But since things had already reached this point, there was no point in regretting it. All Johnson could do was shoot the Smoker down before he was dragged over.
However, no matter how he fired the Electromagnetic Machine Gun, he could not stop the process of himself being dragged into the green smoke.
In a short few seconds, Johnson already was unable to see his surroundings clearly.
That said, he did not once stop shooting.
So long as he continued firing, he might have a chance to hit something.
However, if he chose not to shoot, he could only wait for death.
With this thought in mind, Johnson continued to shoot in trepidation.
The next moment however, Johnson's body crashed right into a metal pillar.
The intense pain made him dizzy, and he spat out a mouthful of blood from the impact.
At the same time, doubts arose in his mind.
Why was there a metal pillar? Where was that zombie?
