15% I Don't Want To Be A Hero [OPM] / Chapter 3: Chapter 3

Capítulo 3: Chapter 3

[T/N]~ I'm extremely thankful to those that informed me about the future of this novel in the raws. Thank you.

And as for the readers? This chapter should decide whether you read the story or not. I would appreciate it if you just went to the reviews and see my review explaining about the situation and some very minor spoilers that might help you decide whether to further read this or not. So once again just check the reviews after reading this chapter.

(Btw you people should pay attention to what you write in reviews and comments. Webnovel deletes them if you use words like Sh*t, H*ll, A*ss, Har*m and some others just add a star andbe done with it like this. I lost five 5 star reviews which kinda makes me sad.)

Thanks ~

Arata obviously wasn't in the mood to talk with Saitama at the moment. He closed his eyes and focused inside of his mind, checking the specific functions of his system. After all, The system was the only way for him to change his fate.

After Some Time...

"Hey, Can you hear me? You're being rude ignoring me like this."

Saitama was looking at Arata with his usual dead eyes, He wondered if the fight had caused Arata some kind of brain damage.

Otherwise, why would he just sit on the ground and gaze blankly ahead?

Saitama was currently facing an internal dilemma, He couldn't decide whether he should take Arata to the hospital or not, he was hesitating because he didn't want to pay the medical expenses...

"He seems to be wearing clothes from famous brands, and his weapon seems expensive as well, He should be a rich man.

He would pay me back, right?"

After struggling for a while, Saitama eventually decided to take Arata to the hospital. After all, He was the reason Arata was in such a state in the first place.

But just as when Saitama was about to pick up Arata the latter suddenly slammed the ground with his fists.

'Come on, Don't tell me this guy's actually gone crazy? Is he thinking of himself as the Crab Monster now? Will I be held responsible for this? Should I pay for the medical expenses?'

This thought of his took place in his heart and constantly bothered him.

"What kind of garbage system is this? Why did it even activate? Isn't this the same as asking me to die?"

Arata's current state of mind could be simply described by the word "Fucked". He had just studied the so-called [Hero System] in detail, and it turned out that the whole system was just a simple cliff.

What truly irked him was the whole concept of the system, It was completely different from his own goal. He obviously wanted to live his life eating and waiting to die, So why should he have to be a "Hero"?

"Hey man I understand that you suffered some mental damages from the recent fight but you can't just give up on yourself let alone give up on getting treated." Saitama misunderstood Arata.

Saitama patted Arata on the back and kept on comforting him. But his comfort made Arata feel even worse, He didn't know whether he should laugh or cry.

"Don't worry, I will take responsibility for this matter...!"

Saitama clenched his teeth and finally made a decisive decision. Although he was a poor man this person was beaten to the point of stupidity saving him. Even if he had to feed one more person Saitama could bear it, It wasn't a big deal, he would just pass his days eating bean sprouts.

"Of course it's your fault. If it wasn't for you getting beaten black and blue the system wouldn't have activated and now I have to choose to either jump down the cliff or die."

Arata said something unclear, Which made Saitama feel even more guilty, and his determination to take in Arata increased.

As for why Araya felt so sad after seeing the system function?

The objective of the [Hero System] was very simple at first glance, and Arata also simply looked at it once before understanding what it was about.

First of all, the [Hero System] had a card drawing function, and the chance to draw cards was obtained by completing the tasks issued by the system.

There were three classifications of cards:

The first classification was [Item Card]. As the name suggested, He could receive a random item from the system. These items could range from anything between weapons, clothes, or even a stone on the side of the road.

It was even possible to draw A "Legendary Sword" or a useless inflatable toy sword.

In short, it was all about luck.

The second classification was [Skill Card], which had the same mechanism as the first classification. Upon drawing the [Skill Card] the host could receive any random skill from the world he was currently in.

For Example- If he was in the Dragon Ball World he would receive skills related to Dragon Ball but if he was in Naruto then he would only get the skills available in the world of Naruto

The skills acquired were divided into two types, one was permanent use and the other was a one-time use.

The third classification was [Character Card], which was also the best of the three classifications of the cards. He could obtain the bloodline of a certain character and he would also get the skills from said person.

In short, Everything depended on his luck!

So far, the functions that appeared in the system were all in favor of what Arata wanted to see. He didn't believe he would stay unlucky for all of his life.

But when he saw the second function of the system, he lost his cool in an instant. It was the reason why said the system was a "cliff" to jump off of.

The second function of the system was the [Word Travel] function.

To help the host become a great "Hero" earlier, the system would allow him to travel through other anime worlds from time to time and release corresponding tasks for rewards.

Most of the worlds selected by the system were when a certain race or even the entire planet is facing a crisis and the host needed to be a "hero" and assume the obligation of a "savior".

But none of the above was the most important thing. The most important thing was that as the host, he had no right to refuse the mission.

If he resisted, then the system would obliterate the host...

This was simply cheating. The world of one punch man was already super dangerous and the system even wanted him to go to other worlds that were most likely facing a crisis?

He would forget it if it was an everyday thing since it was also a good choice to travel to different worlds to avoid the limelight and get strong. But what made it worse was that either a certain race or a world was facing a crisis, this was simply a death trap.

If Arata remembered correctly, "Dragon Ball" was one of such world. After all, Random planets explode or die every now and then. You're bored? Blast a planet. Do you feel angry? Blast a planet. You're happy? Then blast a fucking planet.

And with the current strength of Arata, if he crosses into that world, Then let alone be a "hero", he would not even be a cannon fodder.

But to some extent Arata could ignore all of this, after all, every time some people from the planet died, Goku and the rest of the Z fighters would use the Dragon Balls to bring them back to life.

But what Arata really wanted to know was that would the "Dragon Balls" even resurrect him? After all, he was a "traverser". His soul was ultimately different from the denizens of the dragon ball world. He could be considered an anomaly.

His safety was not guaranteed at all. This system wasn't a good thing to settle down with, it was simply a one-way path to hell!

"It's over, everything is over!"

He had known for a long time that he should've just latched on to his sisters at home, but due to Tatsumaki, he had to leave his comfort zone.

Why was everything going so wrong? He was already tensed up due to the One Punch Man world but now he even had to go save other worlds.

He just wanted to be a lazy person, why was he so worthy of the system and have to save different worlds...

But now it was an undeniable fact, and Arata also knew that there was no possibility of turning things around, and he could only accept the missions helplessly.

Looking at Saitama in front of him, Arata felt that at least in this world, his life would be guaranteed.

"You just said you want to take me in, right? okay, where is your home?"

Arata calmed down, he felt like he should hold onto Saitama's thigh tightly.

Saitama was invincible in this world, and his safety with Saitama could at least be guaranteed. Arata decided to leech off Saitama until he was strong enough to protect himself.

Saitama looked at Arata who had calmed down, his mind seemed clear and his limbs were properly working as well, and he was listening to whatever he said just now, meaning there was nothing wrong with him...

Was he pretending?

"Did I just say something? Why don't I remember?"

Saitama tried to play it off as short-term amnesia.

Arata calmly played the previous conversation on his mobile phone. (A/N- Needed by the plot, don't question it.)

Saitama heard his own clear voice coming from the phone, and murmured "It's over, I've met someone shameless, look at him he's clearly a professional at being shameless"
