"Ben?" I heard my mom call out to him from the door into the kitchen. I hadn't known that she was going to come after us, but I knew that she would have been worried about him as well. She loved him and was accepting him as her own. She wouldn't have liked what had happened to him today. Her motherly instincts were probably going haywire.

"M..mom?" Ben, who had actually started calling her that a few months ago, was shocked to see her. I could understand why though. When I turned to look at my mom at the door of the kitchen, I saw that it wasn't just her. They were all there. Mom, Dad, Momma, Reef and Dr. Malachi. They were all here and they were all looking at us with worried eyes.
