Capítulo 36: Chapter 36 - The Ultimate Support

"Sorry." Mi Young apologizes again and again as she unties the blue haired girl from the bed. "I didn't mean to forget, I was just really tired."

When her hands were finally free, the blue haired girl removed the tape that was plastered on her mouth. She inhales and exhales before she turns to Mi Young and offers her a grateful smile. "Please do not apologize. I want to thank you for saving me. Without your help the goblins would have killed me already."

When the girl stands up, Mi Young notices she is small. However, looking at her, it also feels like she knew everything about the world, which scares Mi Young despite her height.

"I know, I'm small." The girl says with a sigh. "But that doesn't mean I am not capable!"

Mi Young looked at her defensive face. "I didn't say anything."

"Well anyway, I still want to thank you for saving my life." The blue haired girl says as she starts cleaning up the whole mess the goblin has made.

"What happened here?" Mi Young asks while eyeing the blue haired girl. "Why were you tied up on the bed?"

The other girl sighs before she stops moving and slumps down to sit on the bed. "I was just tending to my flowers when a goblin knocked on my house and pretended to be a wounded deer. I immediately let it inside my house to heal its wounds. However, I was too late to notice that he wasn't a deer."

"How were you able to know he wasn't?"

"Goblins are good at mimicking animals or beasts. But there is one flaw that they can't mimic, and that's their goblin mark." The blue haired girl explains. She starts fiddling with her hands and when she faces Mi Young, there is a symbol made from water floating between her hands. Its shape resembles the head of a goblin with its pointed ears. "This is their goblin mark. No matter what kind of animal or beast they try to mimic, this goblin mark will always be attached to them. It will either be on their forehead, their feet, arms, or anywhere in their body."

The girl closes her hands and the water magic she showed earlier vanishes. "Unfortunately for me the goblin that mimicked a deer earlier had his goblin mark on its belly so I wasn't able to immediately see it."

"How about the two goblins that were with him?"

"The tallest one, made itself and the other goblin invisible." The girl says. She then starts to grab her hair in frustration. "I can't believe I let those evil little creatures deceive me!"

Mi Young stayed silent while looking at her, too exhausted to talk because of the fight earlier and her hungry stomach. She hasn't been able to eat since last night and she can feel herself getting weaker. Even if she has high mana power, her body still needs nutrients and so she can't fully fight without a proper meal.

The blue haired girl must have heard her hungry stomach or Mi Young just looks like someone who hasn't eaten for many days because the next second she was pushing Mi Young and ushering her towards the kitchen.

After finally having a decent meal, Mi Young's energy started to replenish, and so she was back with her curious and lively self.

"What's your name by the way?"

"Me? My name's Goo Soo Young." The blue haired girl answers while she points at herself. Mi Young notices that every time she smiles, her eyes form crescents as well, just like Jong In's. Mi Young wonders if Jong In is looking for her.

"You're a Hydro user?" Mi Young asks, recalling how the girl was able to control the water earlier while she showed Mi Young the mark of the goblins.

Soo Young nodded her head. "The reason why I was so easily tied up is not because I'm small, okay?"

Mi Young hears the defensive tone in her voice once more but she keeps silent as the girl continues her explanation. "I'm a Hydro user but I'm not really good at offensive techniques. I'm more like the support type."

"So you're an Arcane Mage."

"That's right! I specialize in both healing and boosting!" Soo Young says in a cheerful voice. "My friends say I'm the Ultimate Support."

"I see." Mi Young says while eyeing the girl who was busy writing something in her journal.

In the Mage kingdom, there are two paths you can get after you graduate school. The path you must take depends on your performance while still at school and the level of your mana power.

The second path is the normal workers. That's what mostly the jobs of the people in Mi Young's town have. Since they lack resources and proper education, they could not cultivate their mana power well, resulting in them having lower mana points. These jobs include painters, carpenters, merchants, and other jobs that requires no mana usage.

The first path is for those Mages who have higher mana points. This path is divided into three classes; Arcane Mages, Sages, and Diviners.

The Arcane Mages, which Soo young belong to, are Mages who specialize in healing or boosting their teammates' mana power and mana energy; they are usually the support during battles. They are also good in teaching which is why most teachers are Arcane Mages.

The other one are the Sages. Sages are divided into two kinds, the Battlemasters and the Illusionists. Mages who belong in these kinds of jobs are well respected and highly praised by the people in the kingdom. They maintain peace and they are tasked to defend the kingdom from any attacks or crimes.

Battlemasters are frontliners during a war or battle. They are good at battling and are geniuses when making battle plans. Illusionists on the other hand are those who are good at deceiving their enemies. They make illusions and can even make their opponents go crazy. They are dangerous and are rare.

The last job a Mage can have is the Diviner. Only the Big Four were considered as Diviners back in the days. Today, not a single Mage has achieved mana points and power that can be considered as the level of a Diviner. Diviners are powerful and can do anything from healing, boosting, illusion magic, and battling. It's the highest ranking Mage job that no one has attained ever since the Big Four.

When she was a kid, Mi Young wishes she could be a Diviner after she finishes school, but thinking about it now, she thinks she's not qualified enough.

"Hey? Hey!"

Mi Young snaps out of her thoughts when she hears Soo Young call her. "What?"

The smaller girl puts her hands on her hips as she sternly tells Mi Young, "I've been trying to get your attention since earlier. You look like you were in a daze!"

"I'm sorry." Says Mi Young while she scratches her head sheepishly. "What were you saying anyway?"

"Is that your beast outside?" Soo Young asks while pointing towards the window.

Mi Young's eyes widened when she remembered that the young Basilisk Dragon was still waiting for her outside and she's on the verge of death as well. "Sh*t. Right! She's dying!"

"I know. Based on the color of her scales, she's starting to die." Soo Young says while eyeing the beast outside who has her eyes still shut.

"Do you know anything that could save her?" Mi Young asks once more, panic evident in her voice.

Soo Young looks offended while she points at herself. "Hello? I'm the Ultimate Support, remember?"

"So you knew someone?"

"Me, idiot!"

"Oh right." Mi Young says.

The blue haired girl rolls her eyes at her as she explains to Mi Young what she can do for her Basilisk Dragon. "Based from her breathing, she only has two days to live. I bet she's poisoned."

"Yes! She was attacked by four three-eyed wolves!"

"They clawed at her?" Mi Young nodded. "I see. She will need a lot of medication then. But knowing my abilities, I can probably save her."

"Really?"

"Uhn. You just have to help me gather the right medication materials."

"Anything I can do to save her." The eagerness and sincerity in Mi Young's voice moved the blue haired witch. Looking at her, she was reminded of herself who is willing to take care and help any animal or beast who is in danger. She smiles softly at Mi Young before she tells her what kinds of herbs to gather. "You will need a blue lotus which you can find at the lotus marsh in Crane Village. A violet lamp grass which can be found near the lair of the Cyclops. Take note that these flowers can only be seen at night. And red mist flowers which can be found on my roof."

"Crane Village? But it's already destroyed."

"Destroyed? How?"

Mi Young looks at the girl in confusion. "Do you really not know what happened to Crane?"

"It's the closest village here. All my friends live there. Wait a minute, it's been two days since they last visited me, I wonder how they are doing." Soo Young says while massaging her chin, then she turns to Mi Young. "How about we go there together?"

Mi Young doesn't want to tell it to her but she sighs while saying in a soft and comforting voice, "Crane Village was destroyed just yesterday."

"Well, that's Crane Villa—wait? What did you say?" There was a shocked and scared look on the girl's face, as if she just realized what Mi Young said. Mi Young didn't want to tell her more of it but she sighed and answered her with a solemn look, she deserves to know the truth anyway.

"Savage beasts came out of nowhere and the first village they destroyed was Crane." Mi Young explains. "I don't know what other villages they are destroying right now but if we don't make any move, pretty soon the whole kingdom will fall down to pieces."

"Crane…destroyed…but my friends…" Soo Young couldn't even complete her words. The black haired girl couldn't do anything but hug Soo Young as the smaller girl cried on her shoulders. It's the only way of comfort Mi Young can give right now.
