Back in the village, I went to the training grounds to train. Where I found a white-haired man training with his team, the man seeing me, smiled, and introduced himself, Hatake Sakumo, from a simple glance I could see he was stronger than the future Sannin, by a lot, his chakra, the way he behaved and everything else shouted power, and easy enough I got excited at the idea of fighting.
Sakumo, seeing this, stopped what he was doing and said, "You are known across the nations, this is an opportunity I can't let go… so, if you don't mind, would you like to have a spar with me," a spar, that was exactly what I was looking for.
Excited at the prospect of having a friendly spar with someone close to my level, I eagerly agreed.
Clearing the training ground from any other shinobi, as to not inadvertently hurt them, we got into position, with Tsunade and her team on the edges of the training ground alongside Sakumo's team, who were all excited for what was about to happen, the White Fang of Konoha, vs, the Walking Calamity of The Leaf.
Tsunade, taking the role of the presenter, shouted, "Begin!" Tsunade had barely finished her sentence when I instantly charged at my foe flickering in front of him. The latter had already been in a defensive stance, which allowed him a sliver of time to parry my attack.
Taking a few steps back, Sakumo blocked my next two blows as well, before attempting to counter with a Fire Ball Technique, which failed when I silenced his cast with one of my interrupts, as I pushed him with a kick.
Bracing in on another stable defensive stance, Sakumo exhaled. As I continued with my assault, delivering a horizontal kick that the older ninja parried with his elbow. The block threw me off-balance, and Sakumo intended to take advantage of that.
Sakumo advanced forward trying to take advantage of my broken balance but was taken aback by the speed with which I had recovered my balance. It wasn't the first time someone had broken my balance, so with that done, I was instantly back on him with a flicker delivering a barrage of powerful fists, each set even stronger than the last.
Using my monk skills to push him back. The Hatake was quickly becoming overwhelmed by my unique style of Taijutsu and had begun a slow retreat backwards under the onslaught of my incoming blows.
"You know I haven't had this much fun in a while," I said with a smirk.
Sakumo didn't respond, instead, he opted to bring his chakra saber into the battle, cutting the ground in an attempt to slice me, "Too bad you are going to lose," he declared.
"Bold words, for someone within slam distance," I replied, slamming my chakra-powered fist into his stomach.
Spitting blood, Sakumo began losing major momentum, and now he could hardly attack at all. He had no time to find an opening, so I would give him one to end this once and for all, so letting myself wide open after an attack, I waited for Sakumo to take the bait, who sadly did.
And as he took the opening I had given him, I twirled around planting another punch to his stomach making Sakumo doubled over, gasping in pain. His eyes met mine for a second, just before I landed another slam to the back of his neck, knocking him out.
"The winner is! Raiden!" Tsunade happily announced as I proceeded to heal the Hatake, the battle had been fun, but short… Perhaps I was stronger than I thought I was.

The news of my battle with Sakumo spread over the village like gossip in a small town, and soon people were talking about me, some said I humiliated Sakumo, others that our battle was legendary and would echo through the ages, me personally? I didn't think it was much of a battle, sure he lasted more than many, but my intention was not to kill him, had I gone for the kill he would've died during the first minute of our fight, I suppose I was being too harsh on him, he was an assassination specialist, not a front-liner like myself.
"Raiden," That voice, Danzo.
"To what do I owe the pleasure," I sighed, not really in the mood for Danzo and his schemes.
"I have talked with Hiruzen about our little plan," Our little plan? That sounded like I had a part in it, which is not true.
"Let me guess, you are going to tell me what happened?" I humored him.
"He accepted," At this, I almost choked.
"WHAT?!" I almost screamed, how could Hiruzen pick me to be the next Hokage, I… was I a bad choice? I…
"He doesn't want you to know, in case a better candidate appears, but so far… you are to be the next Hokage of the Hidden Leaf," Danzo declared, "In the meantime, I will make sure you fame grows and expands across the five nations, that why when the time to take the hat comes, Hiruzen won't have an option but to stand down,"
"What if I don't want to be the Hokage?" I asked.
"You care about the village, more so than most… would you let Hiruzen destroy it?" Danzo asked.
"No," I replied.
"Then I have nothing to worry about, Yondaime Hokage," With that said, Danzo flickered out of sight, leaving me with a sense of… heaviness settling in.

[Sakumo Hatake POV]
Defeated in under three minutes, well ain't that shameful for me, so much for the white fang of Konoha, though I can hardly blame me, the kid danced around me like a fox about to kill a mouse and his Jutsus…. Were on a level of his own, the one he used to forcibly cancel my Jutsu was… a unique ability that if used right, could end a battle quite easily.
"Well, I guess this means I have to train!" I declared with a chuckle, it had been a while since I lost… maybe it was time to up my training quite a few notches.
