Capítulo 53: Part nine - Once, a liar, a cheater and a deciver met 4/??

Taking one of the many silver cases from the money boat, the Straw Hats headed to the village, where they managed to find a local restaurant without any problems. Having ordered fried meat and alcohol in such quantities that the owner of the establishment, a thin gray-haired old man with a pigtail, almost had a heart attack, the whole family settled in the corner farthest from the entrance. Each table in the room was fenced with wooden partitions, therefore, although the eatery did not differ in size and people often entered it, for a long time no one bothered them. Allowing, purely in the family circle, to enjoy their long-awaited meal. You cannot indulge yourself with hot food in boats, which is why even Nami was happy to diminish her portion of meat, although, usually, she was completely indifferent to it, unlike the "boys" sitting around her.

And then the first bells of upcoming events rang out.

- Don't you think that the street has become somehow too noisy? - Zoro asked, looking up from the bottle.

The swordsman was right - in the street, somewhere in the distance, a man was really shouting. A minute later, the screamer approached the restaurant so much that the meaning of his shouts became clear:

- PIRATES !!! THE PIRATES ARE COMING !!! PEOPLE RUN, PIRATES ARE COMING !!!

- Pirates? - Nami raised an eyebrow. - Where do they come from here?

- It just seemed to me, or is this voice really familiar to us? - Luffy asked in turn.

- I think I'm familiar, - Yosaku said, jabbing his finger toward the window.

Behind the glass, their last victim was clearly visible, distinguished from all others by an especially long nose and a complete inability to believably lie. And now, for this very victim, for some reason, probably a good half of the population of the entire village fled. They ran, threateningly shaking with various household tools. Judging by the screams, he got them a long time ago with his lies about the pirates. Moreover, today he already shouted about pirates once, and now, he began to shout the second.

- What do you think about the approaching pirates ... is he not about us? - Johnny asked.

- So we are hunters, and he knows about it, - Yosaku objected.

- Considering how much you scared him, he could well have doubted the veracity of your words, - Nami shared her opinion. - Or else, as an option, you scared him to such an extent that he got crazy.

- I'm ready to put all the contents of our case on the fact that it's all Yosaku's fault, - Luffy said nonchalantly, sipping his milkshake through a straw.

- Why is it my fault? - the mentioned guy was indignant. - If anyone's to blame, it's either you or Zoro! You scared him the most!

- Who just talked about scareing? What could possibly happen to him here? - Luffy mimiced Yosaku's voice. - Weren't those words of yours? So, as I said, I put the whole case, that it is you who are to blame for everything.

- I guess Luffy is right, Yosaku is really to blame for everything, - Zoro supported his captain.

- I agree with Luffy too - Johnny nodded. - Seriously, Yosaku, let this be another lesson for you. After all, how long can you step on the same rake?

Yosaku prudently kept silent: trying to argue with everyone at once would be pure suicide. And an hour later, the Straw Hats, from the conversations of people who entered the restaurant, learned that Usopp - the name of that very long-nosed guy that they all had already safely forgotten - tried to kidnap a rich, sick girl, right from her own mansion, located at the opposite end of the village from the sea. Then Luffy voiced another suggestion:

- The guy has a wild spermotoxicosis, so he is going crazy.

- Then it's not only Yosaku's fault, but all of you, - Nami said.

- Who told you this?

- What? You scared him, so he snapped.

- Rather, there, on the beach, when he woke up, he saw some secluded couple, so his roof began to leak out of envy. So Yosaku is still to blame for everything.

- So, what is next? - Zoro asked, finishing off the last bottle of wine on the table. - Are we sailing today or will we spend the night on land? - It is quite predictable that the swordsman was not at all worried about the fate of the long-nosed guy, whose life, perhaps, was ruined forever. Or the fact that he could be one of the main reasons why this very life was ruined. Still, according to some parameters, Zoro could be considered almost an ideal pirate.

- On the land! Sleep on the land today! - Luffy replied without hesitation. - I got tired of the boat yesterday, so I need a break. In addition, I do not mind at all to relax well and sit on the shore with a fishing rod. We clearly deserve a little rest.

The rest rushed to immediately agree with their captain - they themselves were tired of the boat - so, having bought several crates, completely filled with a wide variety of drinks, the whole family headed back to the beach. And although latently each of them expected the continuation of this whole story with the long-nosed guy, Usopp, it was safe to say that even Luffy did not expect anything like this:

- Please protect my village! - burying his forehead in the ground, in front of the somewhat dumbfounded Straw Hats family, the mentioned Usopp literally sprawled on the ground. One of his hands, remarkably, was bleeding profusely. Like he was shot.

Luffy just couldn't leave something like this without his comment:

- It seems that he really gone crazy, - the guy wisely nodded his head. - Otherwise he would not even come up to us. Or maybe he was like that from the beginning? After all, no sane person would lie about having eighty million subordinates. The fucking Marine Fleet Admiral doesn't have that many subordinates, let alone some pirate from the East Blue.

- What you mean, protect your village? - asked the more serious Nami.

- It seems to me that when he shouted about the pirates, he still did not mean us, - Johnny stated the already obvious fact, holding one of the boxes with the purchased booze.

- Yah? - Yosaku was deliberately surprised, holding the second box in his hands. - And what prompted you to such an idea? - the guy's words literally oozed sarcasm. Yosaku was not going to forget that Johnny sided with Luffy and Zoro when they began to accuse him. Even if all the accusations, judging by all the latest events, were well deserved.

- And he turned out to be braver than I thought, - Zoro said with a distinctly audible note of approval in his voice. However, after a little thought, just in case, I decided to add: - Or much, much, insanely much dumber than we thought of him from the very beginning. - Unlike Johnny and Yosaku, he carried two crates of booze in his hands ... the contents of which Zoro was not going to share with anyone.

- Almost a hundred percent sure it's a mixture of both, - Luffy chuckled.

- Boys, shut up, - not very loudly, and without any distinctly audible emotion in her voice, Nami "asked", but even Luffy thought it wise to shut up immediately. - Get up! - The girl raised her voice slightly, turning to Usopp, who was still sitting in front of them on his knees, with his forehead buried in the ground. - You come with us to the beach, after which you will tell us everything.

- Of course! - almost immediately the guy jumped to his feet. - Thank you very mu ... - and on this he froze, staring at Nami with all his eyes.

It was obvious that until that very moment he had not looked closely at the girl. There, on the beach, when Usopp met the Straw Hats for the first time, Zoro, Johnny, and Yosaku captured all of his attention. The guys looked extremely impressive on their own - especially Zoro! - but when they stood next to each other, the effect did not triple, but rather increased by an order of magnitude. In short, when in your field of vision there are people ideally suited to the image of "Horsemen of the Apocalypse", everything else becomes irrelevant. So now, for the first time, Usopp really paid attention to Nami, and his stupor could easily be understood and forgiven. Fruit and training turned Nami from a beautiful, but still quite ordinary girl, into a Goddess who descended to earth. Out of habit - and, in most cases, with habit too - the beauty of Nami, especially so close and so unexpected, completely took out the brains of all, without exception, males. Usopp, of course, was no exception.
