Penelope didn't do much during her last week of working at the call center. With more free hours now that she was done with her job at Long's, she was able to fill out all the paperwork she needed to in advance and do a little shopping for appropriate work clothes.
She had been told the office was business casual. She had enough blouses to get by but needed to buy a few pairs of slacks. All she had were jeans or leggings, neither of which would be appropriate.
Buying things at thrift stores always took a lot longer than at regular stores because the sizes were never consistent. It took a lot of digging to find anything decent but if you looked long enough, you could always find a gem or two.
She ended up getting a blouse as well because it was only $3. It was from a high-end brand too.
