"You don't have to be this scared," said Su Wan as she hoisted the wooden ladder up on her shoulder and then set it against the wall of Lin Yan's room. "It's going to be fine. I'm with you, aren't I? If there is a baby on the roof, then we will take care of it. You shouldn't get scared of babies."
Lin Yan pursed his lips. He knew that Su Wan was joking with him to lighten the heavy mood around them. But he really did not want to get up on the roof and run the risk of seeing something he didn't want to. After all, most of his hallucinations were something only Lin Yan could see alone. No one else could see what he saw, anyways.
Su Wan wasn't much of a security blanket while trying to climb up on the roof if he spoke the truth.
