Mary Cruent. Month 10, Day 16, Year A.F 652. Neil Principality.
"Alvin! What is the meaning of this." My shout rings through as the gates open.
Alvin smile as he shrugs, the men around him taking formation, he walks away with a smile,
"I'm merely doing what the situation demands."
"You'll be blacklisted for this treachery!" The shout stops him.
He only shouts back as he walks away, "It isn't treachery if no one alive says it is."
So that was his ploy! It's true that no Principality would blacklist him if no one talks of what happens here. I look around to see, his soldiers already surrounding the battlements.
He plans on killing any witnesses, the thought alone makes me grin as I crack my neck to the side.
I spoke with a menacing grin, "Soldiers! It seems we have been betrayed. Though we have been tasked to guard this city, it is our duty to take down enemy combatants."
My soldiers tensed, as the demon knights, get closer and closer, "In other words, Go nuts."
The excitement almost felt unbearable till my words took away any restraints, and my men shout in glee as they dash in battle.
The enemies brace their formation, shields up and ready. Till I dashed in with a swipe, breaking their shields and formations.
As I slash, wiping out their frontlines, leaving them vulnerable. The men immediately capitalize on this chaos as they rip and tear through their formation, unleashing unmanageable chaos.
This always happens once the battle starts, only their discipline remains, when they enter a power frenzy. A discipline to work in their groups.
Michael was right in having them train in small formations, a big tactical formation would have held them back. Then again the constrained space is working for us right now, with them unable to leverage their huge number.
The sounds of horses grow clearer despite the screams and shouts, I look around, finding Alvin, who was running from the chaos.
I grin as the knights' distance inches closer, I look to the soldiers, seeing that they're still right above the gate.
I join them with a jump, standing on top of their shield. I lean my face closer and whisper,
"Goodbye."
With a swing, I rip them to shreds, the men around them panicking. One tries to stab me and I dodge, followed by a quick spin, heads roll and blood fly.
The familiar red haze settles on me, giving me the required strength to continue. I swing my sword forward as the men in front of me cower, the winds push them back as I point my sword forward and shout,
"FORWARD!"
Excited shouts and despairing screams follow as my soldiers pass beside me. Each one killing the men who were left, they start pouncing and slashing forward, pushing them back further.
I was startled out of my stupor as I feel a concentration of magic. I look to it to see, fireballs heading directly in my direction.
Anticipating its arrival, I slash my sword and powerful wind appears. Redirecting them towards the gate, ripping out chunks from its already battered structure.
Seeing this display, the demon knights spur on their horses. I inspect the coming knights to see one leading it. I smile at his clothing and mutter, "So we have ourselves a Prince or princelet."
The chaotic sounds of battle grow farther as my men advance. I wait for them to get closer and I stab my sword on the gate as cracks begin to appear.
I watch intently, waiting for the perfect moment. A few seconds pass, with prince inside. I grit my teeth as the sword lowers, cracks start spreading through the gate.
It bursts into dust as I feel my footing fall, I take a look down, to see the knights panic. Some of which dies under the rubble.
I jump off the falling rubble, till I stood atop the pile of dead men and stone. The knights look in distress as they immediately get off their horses, ready to protect their Prince.
The prince glares as I grin back at the sounds of marching. They look around to see Ivan and Egon arrive with two hundred men, surrounding them.
"Surrender or Die," My shout was heard by everyone watching as Dave arrived with the Northern gate forces in the hundreds.
Unfortunately, despite my generous offer, they replied with a barrage of fireballs. I jump as I look to Egon with a grin, he sighs understanding what I'm about to do.
After all, with this many demon knights, I can let loose. I jump in the middle of them, taking one out as blood sprays over me and I let a red haze take over.
"This is going to be FUN!"
Egon. Month 10, Day 16, Year A.F 652. Neil Principality.
There were a few things I were afraid of, one of those were the Cruent sword style. A sword style not intent on killing. A sword style intent on bloodying their opponents, something which their eyes revel in.
Unfortunately, it seems that the drawback hit just as hard. The large drain on our supplies is something a bit more problematic.
Though the worst problems stem from a change in personality. Her once serious demaeanour, turns bloodthirsty, if it weren't so powerful I would have stopped her from using it.
I look around the situation, since it's gotten to this point, might as well.
"IVAN! Take fifty men with you and clean up the Albrien forces." Ivan looks to me then nods as he immediately rallied his men to him, intent on ending this battle once and for all.
Mary was swinging her blade, as winds continuously erupt everywhere. I look to the leader and shout to the men, "Take custody of their leader, kill anyone who resists."
The men shout as they dash forward, slashing and swinging. I sigh as I watch the battle, It's good that only about fifty men were left inside the city, they were taken care of easily. And with the demons unable to use magic because their leader was inside, it just made everything better.
The sounds of screams and shouts erupt still, the blood frenzy Mary was in doesn't end easily. I look to the rubble to see the remaining demons climbing through.
I dash towards Mary before she could react, I take her by the neck and threw her to the men climbing. She tries to stab me as I do so but I dodged.
She spins mid-air before she lands gracefully between the demons. Mary grins as she looks around, noticing where she was. She doesn't stop in her dance, with each slice and swing, blood spills.
I turn my back from the gore and carnage as I watch the knight's leader dragged to me. I kneeled to the ground before grabbing his red hair and forcing him to look up at me. A malicious grin spread over my features
"Hello Prince, I'm sure we'll be enjoying our time together."
