Rosa guessed who the man was. The position of the blade indicated that the man was standing behind her. In this heat of fire, the blade felt cold to her skin.
‘Will he kill me now? Should I ask for a painless death?’ her mind made a lot of questions.
Her heart on the other hand was beating steady. She felt a strange calmness around her body.
‘Is this how it feels before dying?’ Rosa did not feel any panic on her body. She let the calmness cover her body. The shadow seemed to have gone silent. “Before you strike that sword may I know your name?”
Her eyes did not move to glance at him but stayed straight in the front looking at the burning fences.
“Commander Kundh, Sir!” one of the soldiers called out to him.
‘The reinforcements must be here already. Time is up for me.’ Rosa thought her hand slowly reached for the pill in her glove.
‘I never asked what was the poison they used to make this pill?’ Her mind blocked the conversation of the two people behind her.
