Vanessa stood there. Hot, bothered, and now sober. She wasn’t much of a drinker, but Rylie introduced her to fruity cocktails and that ruled them tolerable. She held a hand to her neck, panting as the moment played on repeat through her mind. It was strange. She’d never been bitten by a vampire. Hell, just a couple weeks ago she didn’t even know they existed. She imagined being bitten would be painful. Yet when Malik sank his fangs into her neck, she felt nothing but pleasure and desire. It felt so good in the moment. Her body riling up, the damp heat between her thighs. For a moment, nothing else existed. Not the deal they made, the fact he was willing to kill her brother. None of that. It was nothing but Malik’s mouth on her neck, drinking from her, and if she were dying, that would’ve been the ideal way to go.
