Luciana's eyes welled up with tears but she blinked them away. She pushed herself to her tiptoes and pressed a soft kiss on her lips. 

Cardan froze. 

When her eyes opened, he saw the usual defiant spark in them. It relieved him. 

The moment she opened her mouth again, she was spitting fire, ''But if you want to be my man, you will be only mine for as long as we are together,'' Luciana stepped back from him, ''I am a petty woman. I don't share my things. I won't share my man.'' 

''Am I your man now, Lucy?" he teased, his eyes sparkling.
