Mark yanked the door of the morgue open, a file folder he picked up at the department on their way over in one hand, as he called out for Tricia. He slid into the coroner’s office, the others following in his wake. He wasn’t sure how much she could help them, but she was his only hope at this juncture. She’s going to think I’m batshit crazy.

As he entered the medical examiner’s exam room, Tricia Pierce sat at her desk, pen in hand as she glanced over her shoulder at him. Seeing that he wasn’t alone, she turned, tossing the pen on her desk, and pushing herself to her feet. “Mark? Everything okay?”
