After the interview, Fan Geng returned home. He was greeted by an angry mother hitting him with a broom for answering the way he did.
"But ma! How do you know!?"
"Doctor Li called and said your interview was funny!" Zuiba replied. "You're supposed to show your surgical skill! Not show off how good you are at gaming!"
"How did that quack become an attending anyway! If that's the type of people they hire, maybe it's better if they don't hire me!"
"Well, shouldn't my screening show you that Doctor Li is the real thing!"
Fan Geng hissed. His mother's last screening showed that her cancer had reduced to almost nothing.
"You can't say it's him! It's your first targeted therapy session that is showing its effect."
"Hpmh! You better not mess up on your exam!"
On Saturday afternoon, Fan Geng decided to visit the clinic.
As soon as he approached the front of the shop, he saw Bizi, who was about to close the door.
"Ah Ms. Bizi! Hold up!" Fan Geng cried out and walked inside the clinic.
"What are you doing here again you brat!?" Zuiba yelled out as soon as she saw her son.
"Your son can't come to escort you home?" asked Fan Geng.
"Blah, like I believe that."
The quack and a young woman walked to the front area from the courtyard. Li Yun was dressed in a casual tee and the woman wore a loose blouse and ripped jeans, looking like they were about to head out on a date.
"Oh my, Ms. Song, you look gorgeous!" cried Bizi. "I can see why Doctor Li was so moody last week."
"He was?" Rouxi asked as she looked at Li Yun.
"We're going to be late, let's go," Li Yun said as he grabbed onto Rouxi's hand and took off using the back door.
"Ah! Ma! Isn't that Meimei?" Fan Geng was suddenly shocked at the revelation. His idol had a boyfriend! And the worst part was, it was the quack!
Zuiba slapped Fan Geng's head. "Peh! Of course, it's Ms. Song. But at least respect their privacy."
Fan Geng sniffled and looked a bit sad. His idol with another man...
In the meanwhile, Li Yun drove Rouxi to see a concert. It wasn't his choice of concert, but it was his gift to her for giving him a present.
It happened that an idol group had a concert scheduled for the week, so Li Yun got them front row tickets. Li Yun followed Rouxi around as she waited in the merchandise line.
"Why do we have to buy this? Isn't it cheaper online?" Li Yun asked, looking at the long line ahead of them before reaching the merchandise booth.
"Why are you acting like an old man Doctor Li? It's called the fan experience," Rouxi said as she took out her camera and turned on her webcam.
"Hello everyone! Meimei here with my boyfriend to see a concert by YBOYS. They are a new group, so I'm spreading support for this budding group! Since I am out here today, I'll have my usual Chibo with Lingling tomorrow."
Meimei#1fan: Meimei you have a new boyfriend!? Hoping he treats you better than those other bastards!
FanClubmember#43635: Meimei looks so fashionable in casual clothing!
"I got this at a discount store, very affordable for anyone who wants to go out, and look expensive without paying the price!" Rouxi mentioned as she saw the comments.
XiaoMeiGrandpa: Xiao Mei looks good in anything. *give gifts*
Meifan: Meimei, show us your new boyfriend!
Rouxi looked at Li Yun. "My boyfriend is a bit camera shy, so probably not the best. Oh, how about I interview some of the YBOYs fans who are auntie and uncle fans!"
Rouxi asked Li Yun to wait in line as she moved around to talk to the other fans.
Li Yun looked around. It was really just girls, and a couple of guys, but they were usually the father of a young child. Since the group was really new, the vast majority of fans were middle school and elementary school girls with their parents.
Rouxi was considered an older sister or auntie fan.
Joining to wait in line were faces that Li Yun were familiar with.
"Dad, you don't have to join us, if you don't know the group," Ahna said.
"Why not, it's not often you're here, and I get to meet Xiao Luna," Chief Gao responded.
Luna was Ahna's half-sister.
"Who's the old guy waiting in line?" asked the little elementary school kid pointing to the man who was a good head taller than the rest of the line. "It looks like he's alone."
"Maybe he's just waiting in line for his daughter…" Chief Gao's voice abruptly stopped when his daughter interrupted him.
"Isn't that Doctor Li?" Ahna asked.
Chief Gao's head snapped to look ahead, seeing Li Yun waiting in line.
"Hmph! I knew he was an idol pop enthusiast like me!" Chief Gao's love for idol groups was genuine, but it was rare for male adults to be so into them.
"Uncle Gao, it looks more like he has a girlfriend who's into idol groups," Luna remarked as Rouxi returned in line.
"How do you know that she's his girlfriend? Could be a sister or cousin," Ahna stated.
"Come on sis, a man doesn't look at a woman like that if they are related."
"How would you know? You're just a brat."
"I'm thirteen, more than enough to know you probably have a failed attempt to ask him out."
Ahna reached out to mess up her sister's ponytail, but Luna ducked out of the way.
"All right, that's enough you two!" Chief Gao was going to have a headache watching the two kids.
After an hour in line, Li Yun finally arrived at the merchandise table, but there wasn't much to order, except for this strange lightstick and the head of a boy on a stick. Even Rouxi didn't even know who it was, but she made Li Yun buy it.
"You know this is going to break by the end of the day," Li Yun remarked on his girlfriend's frivolous spending.
"Well, Doctor Li, super glue exists for a reason. I know it's not common in the OR, but super glue saves a lot of lives."
Rouxi checked the time, there was still some time before the concert. She decided to interview the back of the row. Li Yun saw Chief Gao near the back, and thought it was proper to greet them since they had already seen him.
"Doctor Li! What a surprise!" Chief Gao cried out.
"Chief Gao, Ms. Ahna, and this is?" Li Yun greeted them.
"Luna!" the little girl responded.
"Hello," Li Yun greeted the little girl. "This is Meilin."
"Hello! Are you guys all fans?" asked Rouxi.
"We are idol group fans," Luna replied.
After chatting a bit, they headed inside the concert. The father and two girls sat a bit further in the back, so they split up.
I really enjoy medical and detective web novels, so this is a fanfic, in a way. There's another type of genre that I like, which will be prominent in volume 3. It has already been hinted. Care to guess the direction of volume 3?
I hope everyone enjoy the ride, as I'm known to be a bit of a scatterbrain and spontaneous.
