Capítulo 53: of each other

"GOOD MORNING CLASS," 

Their teacher greets, ushering them to take away their bags. 

"We would be starting the test this instant so I hope we are already." She says, arranging the test papers before her. "Take away all notebooks, you do not want me to catch you with anything."

Aubrey looks down at her wrist one last time, feeling a sense of security from the bracelet. However, that is her mistake- putting too much faith into the piece of thread, she doesn't realize when Kai starts to make a move.

Harper makes a loud, nervous sound. "You can do this, Aubrey. Do not forget our deal." She smiles as if she could charm her with it. "I really hope you studied and you weren't up all night doing it with him."

Aubrey shuts her eyes at her statement, acting like she doesn't hear her as she takes her bag away from her.

"I thought you were rooting for them?"

Harper gives Joe another stink eye.
