Capítulo 31: Tyranny?
In a room full of people, a man is seen standing in front of them, with pure black eyes and brown skin, the man emits the aura of a great person thus, intimidating the people in the room into submission.
"I have gathered all of you here either through voluntary means or through brutal methods. I won't stand to ceremony so I would like to tell each and everyone of you to separate into two groups, those that voluntarily came here and those that were knocked out cold and were dragged into this shithole" Renaldo said, feeling disgusted at this room his people used as a detainment cell.
He thought; "I'll probably renovate this place into a decent room, as to not give future detainees the impression that they're going to some kind of hell"
The people in front of Renaldo immediately gathered into two groups, one group that voluntarily went to this shithole and another that was taken by force. Both groups were silent as Renaldo stood in front of them, like sheep in front of a lion they cowered in fear, those that voluntarily went here we're relieved that they made the right decision while those people who were taken by force faces the most burden as they were targeted by Renaldo's aura.
Renaldo spoke; "those people who voluntarily went here, all of you will be granted the luxury of immediately being trained as administrative and judiciary officials, all of you have guaranteed slots on my government, while those people on the other group, all of you will act as civil servants and will be subjected to training, not all of you will be accepted as officials though, Those that were accepted will live and have the luxury of climbing the ranks in the future while those that we're not accepted will be killed, including their whole kin as an example to those people who wants to oppose me." while speaking, Renaldo looked at them emotionlessly, like someone looking at dead people.
They are great people, there's no doubt about that but these Ilustrados are not what they seem to be, in his past life, these people fought for equality but at the same time wants to cling at the legs of the monarchy, their founder, Lopez Jaena is probably the biggest hypocrite of them all, they don't deserve a single ounce of pity, giving them a chance to climb is enough, those that proved themselves useful will be the winners while those who are useless and at the same time incompetent will be cleansed, this is Renaldo's principle and he will stand by it.
After telling them his piece, Renaldo immediately ordered his people to bring them to their quarters where they will stay for a few months before being screened as worthy or not.
As both groups proceeded to their quarters, some people from the second group couldn't help but feel defiant against their current situation as all of them unitedly thought that this is unfair, each and everyone of them are scheming in their minds, they're not some pushovers and they will have their revenge!
Of course, Renaldo knows what is currently going on in their minds, he knows this fully as this has been his exact situation in his past life, he was bruised, battered and broken which led to his defiance against fate, his defiance led to one of the bloodiest revolution in the history of the country, much more than the past iterations of it.
Jose Rizal's POV
"Lopez Jaena is correct! This guy is a tyrant through and through! I remember hearing stories about the Kaiser being like this! Bloodthirsty and brutal! They're birds of the same feather and I will never subject to his tyranny!" Thought the young man as he walked towards his quarters.
They entered a room that looks like a 20th century inspired room, way too advance for its time, it is further divided with multiple rooms while having a library full of books made and printed by Renaldo and his grandfather during the 10 years that Renaldo has spent honing his knowledge and his memories, this library has every knowledge Renaldo has about admistrative affairs but most of its books comes from contemporary works of this era, as such, this was a treasure trove for each and every individual in this room, except the guards of course. The knowledge that is in this room is one of the reasons why Renaldo needs to kill those that he doesn't have use for, aside from them being incompetent of course.
As the people of Rizal's group marvel at the contemporary books inside this library, their eyes caught something in the middle, wherein a shelf that is full of Renaldo's knowledge resides, each and every title of the books were the same as it is a collection of everything that he knows, the books were only separated by volumes thus, a huge sign was just put atop the shelf, which says; "Advance Administrative Affairs" the books on the shelf only has numbers for titles, indicating that the sign above is the title of the books while the numbers represents the volumes. This awed the people, although the name author wasn't included.
But after scanning some parts of the books the people of Rizal and Lopez Jaena's group thought that the author is someone that is very knowledgeable in the field, someone that is the ideal leader of a country and if ever given the chance to rule will be the perfect one for the job.
Someday in the future though, the remaining survivors of this ordeal will be shocked to know that the author of the books and the perfect leader that they assumed him to be will be the exact person whom they condemn as a tyrant.
