Bella showered and toweled off quickly, then padded into the bedroom and knelt in the corner.  She closed her eyes and waited, slowing her breathing and emptying her mind of all the clutter from the day.  They’d been so busy, hitting the ground running from the first moment.  It had been exciting and fun, the tango segment most of all.  It had been a blast doing the intricate steps and movements.

Luke had admitted that he’d been jealous.  She considered that for a moment.  There had been a time when she would have found it amusing to make a man jealous.  Just simple sport, really.  Now she found she didn’t like it. She never wanted Luke to be angry with her, disappointed in her.

She heard the door open and close behind her and she felt relieved.  He’d come to her.  As if he might not have, she thought.  Her head was in a strange place.  She desperately needed to be at his feet, to center herself.
