Capítulo 15: The Taming of the Shrewd

“You did what?” Caren asked Hajah Seri in disbelief.

Hajah Seri was shaking a bit and continued to wrestle her hands together in distress.

"I, Uhm, h-he told me to prepare it and…" Hajah Seri, near to tears, tried to focus on what she was saying, "… and I saw that there was chicken in there. It looked so cold, so I decided to warm it up."

“So… you decided to warm Ben’s packed lunch in the microwave?”

Hajah Seri nodded slowly.

“You warmed Ben’s Caesar salad in the microwave! Wow! He must be livid!”

Hajah put both hands to her face and started crying. Caren moved closer to her to pat her on the shoulders.

"Where's Cyd? Did she go somewhere to hide or cry?" Caren almost laughed at her joke.

“She ran out of the office when I told her. I-I don’t know where she went.”

“What about Ben? What did he say to you?”

Hajah Seri then wailed.

"Nothing, and that makes it worse. Ben just looked at me, but I can feel that he was furious!"
