Without thinking, Rowan reached out, grabbing the hand, guided it past her body as she ducked and kicked out with her foot. Rowan caught the attacker square on his knee. Grimacing, he grunted and swung his dagger again. The dagger sliced through her bodice, and she felt the sting as the blade grazed her skin. In the next breath, her view was blocked by Elven armour. Captain Phalen held the squirming, threat-spewing attacker firmly against the ground, and Rowan couldn’t help but notice the rust-coloured armour that made a stark contrast against the black stone floor.
