"And I would rather think the opposite is the case."

"What?" It was my turn to look confused. Dustan's bashfulness seemed to had evaporated into thin air as he gazed at me with such sadness in his eyes. It made me wonder what was going on in his head now.

"Master, why did you wake up so early?"

I raised a brow. Is this his way of saying he doesn't want to talk about it? I frowned. However, prodding into his past seemed like a touchy subject. And so I relented.

"... A dream. I had a dream—one that kept me awake. Do you have dreams like that too?" I returned the question to him.

"I do."

"What kind of dreams keep you awake at the wee hours of the morning, Dustan?"

I walked towards him, and laid down on beside the pillar where he stood. The lad hesitated a bit before he joined me. We stared at sky, just beyond the glass—so beautiful, and yet so out of reach.
