Gideon pulled over in front of Bertha's house. she turned and saw the lights in the first floor turned on.

''You still have about 15 minutes to your curfew'' Gideon said as he looked at his watch.

Bertha smiled. ''Oo, but the lights are on. My brother must be back already''

''Should I go in and explain things?''

''What is there to explain? You don't have to do anything''

''Are you not going to ask me about Peter and Damian?'' Gideon asked when Bertha picked her bag.

''No. I gave you a chance but you didn't take it, Gideon'' she was referring to the time she asked him about them and he didn't answer her.

''I was afraid. I was afraid that you would hate me. You were just starting to not be disgusted about me, so I lied''
