"You talked to him," Fortuna confronts me as soon as I walk through the door.

"Yes." Judging from her tone, I shouldn't have. "Why?"

"Why..." She repeats my question as she rubs her temples. "Do you not understand the situation you're in?"

"It was just taking notes. We're classmates and nothing else," I assure her.

"Micah, this is serious. You're gonna get hurt and you'll cause others to be in pain, too. Why won't you listen?" she says, desperation clear in her voice.

"I'm sorry." Normally, I'd start yelling at her, or at least tell her to fuck off and stop overexaggerating. Sure, I'm still irritated, but upon seeing how concerned she is, I do begin to feel bad. All she's trying to do is save my life.

"You are my grandson. I don't want you to die. Even if you've only met me two days ago, I have been watching you all your life," she continues.
