Capítulo 61: What A Writer

"What do you mean by this?" the director of the branch of the publishing company in the Philippines, asked Eduard after hearing what he had to say about the helper of Scarlet.

"It was just as I have said, miss Amethyst Evans was in reality the real author behind Astral," Eduard repeated.

"Don't you think this is too big of an issue you are suddenly throwing in?" the director asked again.

"I know sir, but it is because she had given me her permission to tell you that I am telling you now," Eduard replied.

"What if that woman is lying to you?" the director asked him.

"Indeed," Eduard started.

Amethyst could have lied about everything and was only acting but...

"Her eyes had shown all the things I need to know. And her actions gave all the answers that I want to have," Eduard replied seriously.

At the same time, it is because of the reaction of Emerald that Slate had told him. That he knew she was indeed telling the truth.

The director looked at him seriously and seeing as he was dead serious in what he was saying, he knew that it was indeed the truth.

Eduard wasn't the easily trusting type of person, he evaluates and take a lot of things into consideration before he would really believe a person.

Especially in their world that was filled with a lot of lies.

"And is that also the reason why Scarlet was adamant on taking her in as a helper?" soon he asked with a sigh.

Just how much did they try to stop her from having a helper outside of the company.

'She is the only one for me,' was her words back then.

They didn't understand it, not at all.

Just who was this miss Amethyst Evans she wanted to be by her side? She suddenly came up and became someone that Scarlet could trust?

They wanted to investigate but it was not what their company would do.

After Scarlet, Eduard started persuading them as well. Being her editor they also asked him to see just why was Scarlet so sure of this person.

Yet in the end, even he was taken in by that person and allowed that person to be with Scarlet.

The company may have been big, but most of their authors treat each other as family, together with the management.

"Are you serious about this?" the director asked him again.

"Yes, sir. We are dead serious about it," Eduard answered without any hesitation.

"Then why is it that you waited until now that she had given you permission to tell us about this?" the director asked again.

"Because she never wanted to return to that past," Eduard started.

The director furrowed his brows and waited for what Eduard had wanted to say.

"She became a ghost writer without her knowledge and by the time she found out about it was the time that Astral's identity was revealed to the public. But most of the writing world already knew of Emerald as the one who wrote them."

The director nodded, that is indeed a difficult case.

"But miss Emerald..." he paused when he actually realized only now the connection between the two.

She had been speaking of Amethyst full name all this time. They would also have a meeting regarding this matter. But not one of them were able to connect the two together.

"Yes, miss Amethyst Evans is the younger sister of miss Emerald Evans. The reason why miss Emerald could portray everything that was written in the book," Eduard continued what he wanted to say.

"This is a bit difficult to take in," the director massaged his temple.

"Miss Evans wanted me to tell you about this not for you to dig about the issue at hand but for you to have a peace of mind that she will do everything that she can in order to help Scarlet publish her best book," Eduard added.

The director stared at him silently for a bit before sighing, "Well, we have already agreed anyway and she has already signed the contract as a helper. This time, we are just much sure that we can rely on her because of who she was."

He pressed a button on his telephone, "Please bring me all the books that was published by the author Astral."

Eduard looked at him bewildered as why he suddenly wants to see those books.

"I want to see what you all saw and the reason why Scarlet was so sure of her being the only one for her. I had read them in the past but I simply read them to see how good Astral was. I want to read it this time, with the thought of understanding her writing," the director said seeing how confused he looked.

It wasn't longer before the copies of her five books arrived.

Eduard excused himself.

The director may not look like it but he was actually a bookworm and when he gets started on his reading, no one could actually disturb him.

Though he only reads when he knows that he really has no work to do. Giving him the freedom to immerse himself in the story that he was reading.

The director, Kevin Hamilton, was actually a fan of Astral in the past.

The books he has now were his personal ones, he had just placed it in the company to allow the others to use it as reference.

These books are also part of the limited edition ones.

When he finally arrived at the latest book, Her Hidden Self.

He once again saw the tear stain on the middle part. The stain had him getting mad at Eduard because he had actually allowed someone else to ruin the book.

Now that he knew the story and knowing that it was Amethyst, who had cried because of it, he couldn't help but to touch it and feel bad for her.

He finally understood why Scarlet and Eduard were adamant that Amethyst should be with Scarlet.

Her story had the emotion, the emotions that was a bit lacking with Scarlet.

She had focused on her fantasy points and how to show the readers a world she created in her mind.

But Amethyst was different, she uses real life places and realistic things but the emotions were there. You would feel sad whenever the character was sad.

You would cry and get angry together with the characters.

These things aren't easy unless you put yourself in the body of your character. Think like her or act like her.

Sometimes what makes this difficult is the fact that once you create a new story and use a new character, you couldn't help but put the emotions of the first character to the next.

It could complicate the story because you wouldn't be able to tell what was it that the current character should have? How should they act?

But all of Amethyst's stories were unique on their own. They were a world of their own.

You will see bits and pieces of the first character on the next but it was too little that you really wouldn't mind.

'What a writer,' Kevin leaned back on his chair and thought after really understanding the writer behind the stories.

He was a bookworm but most of the time, he would understand the story itself and not the writer writing behind the stories.
