Capítulo 22: Chapter 22: Emotions He Felt Intensified

Amethyst took a deep breath as she and Slate reached the place.

Northern Blossom, just as the name implies, the place was filled with different types of flowers.

And since it was at a high point of the mountain, the surrounding gave it more beauty, due to the mountainous terrain.

They were able to get there at around five and the afternoon breeze was still cold because it was still January.

"They are beautiful," she commented.

"Hmmm."

"I'll go ahead then," she looked at him and said.

"Go on, I'll just look around here while you do what you have to do," was his answer.

She once again took a deep breath and went into character, the character of the lady enjoying herself in the middle of all these beautiful flowers.

It wasn't sunset yet but she still did it, playing around enjoying everything not realizing that time ticked by and an hour and half passed just like that.

The sun that sets caught the girls eyes as she looked at it, stopping her movements, just simply looking at the sun.

The wind blew her hair up.

Slate who was using his phone looked up and saw her standing still.

His hands moved and opened the camera of his phone.

He then focused it on her.

It was a silhouette shot, the flowers' colors were still vividly being seen, the mountains were painted black and the sky was orange, together with the sun that was about to hide behind the mountains.

The image taken was picturesque taking anyone's breath away.

As he stared at the picture he took, he couldn't help but feel speechless.

The back was looking both nostalgic and contented, it has a tinge of sadness but it wasn't looking depressed.

The image portrayed so much emotions that will make anyone feel all the emotions.

He looked up at her back and the emotions he felt intensified.

Without realizing it he started walking towards her and stood beside her.

Amethyst who was slowly leaving her state of being in character, snapped out of it completely when he stood beside her.

He didn't say anything but his body, shielding her small frame from the wind coming from the side he stood at made her feel warm.

The loneline she started feeling a while ago as she looks at the scenery in front of her slowly disappeared.

He didn't do anything else other than stand beside her but she felt so blessed that she didn't come here alone.

Because if she did she felt like she would have cried.

The emotions she locked tightly in a bottle in her heart, burst open after the talk she had with Scarlet.

She currently was someone who is very much emotional, especially after seeing her sister's face for the first time in a long while on TV this day.

Silence enveloped the two of them as the sky slowly turned dark.

And when it did, Amethyst speak up, "I want to see the sunrise."

Slate looked down at her.

She looked up at him, "I want to check out it's sunrise as well."

He nodded his head, "I will accompany you as well."

"You don't have your duty tomorrow?" she asked after hearing him say this.

"I can ask someone to change shifts with me," was hi answer.

He felt it to be natural to accompany her to these places. Especially after once again seeing his sister in the hospital bed.

Both of them could see that her time has become shorter again.

And without her saying anything, Amethyst also knew of it.

She just nodded after hearing his explanation, there is no point in saying thank you, she had already said it too much that she knew he no longer thinks of it as something necessary.

*****

"I see, this muct be for her or for me but I am grateful you are willing to accompany her," Scarlet said when Slate informed her.

"What's the point of backing out now? I'll accompany her to get the best materials for your story. I know with her help you will be able to do what you want to do," Slate replied.

She chuckled, "When you were so against the idea of accompanying her in the past, look at you now, even using me as reason to justify that you can accompany her."

"Stop trying to imply anything with what I am doing right now," he sighed as he said this.

"I am not implying anything after all we may have been neighbors for four years now but we only got close to her for two months. Things don't need to be rushed," she replied.

Slate raised an eyebrow, "And here you are saying you are not implying anything when your other words says otherwise."

Scarlet giggled, "It is not bad, I don't feel anything bad about her after all. Not only because of her helping me out but because as a person that's what I felt towards her."

Slate didn't say anything as he looked outside the window of his study room in their unit.

Scarlet hated him being by her side every time she was in the hospital and that is why she barely goes there to look out for her.

The first night was an exemption, that he left Amethyst there because he knew they still have things to talk about.

Scarlet smiled despite him not seeing her, "Eduard visited me today."

"Yeah, I told him when he asked how everything is going," Slate answered, he was not shock because he was the one who informed him.

"Everyone was worried he said," she then said.

Despite the main publishing company to be based abroad, there was a small extension here in the Philippines that when they found out that she will be coming here for her final project, Eduard and everyone else decided to have Eduard come.

He was her main editor.

"I think that is natural since the person who couldn't sit still was now staying in one place," Slate replied.

They never runaway from talking about her sickness.

They didn't want to because they wanted to accept the fact that she has no chance of surviving.

"Well, that is true. I never wanted to stay in one place back then that they too had to run around sometimes to look for me," she giggled as she talked about the past.

"What is it Scarlet?" Slate ased.

Despite him not seeing her face, he can tell from her voice that there is something else she wanted to say.

He heard her sigh, "You really do know me don't you?"

"I am your brother whom you raised after our grandparents died."

That's right, they were not raised by their parents but by their grandparents instead.

No they didn't die but that they had divorce and have different families now.

Bith Scarlet and Slate never tried to contact them after both of them left the two of them in their grandparents place.

"He finally found someone else and is now moving towards his own happiness," she said to him after a pause.

"Are you crying?" he asked her standing up to face the window.

"No, I'm happy. I'm happy because he can move forward and live even without me by his side."
