Capítulo 14: Ch. 14 She Wanted To Meet Him

Chleo rapidly dressed up as soon as the alarm on her digital clock went off. She purposely set an alarm clock so she could wake up at five in the morning, three hours before her habitual wake-up time. She wanted to meet Axel and try to talk to him with no caring her black and white panda-like eyes.

What was the first thing she needed to talk about again? She stupidly forgot it and groaned in frustration.

It can wait. Chleo tried to calm herself. First thing first, she needed to face her husband. The words might spill smoothly once she met the man.

She walked down the stairs along the corridor while thinking about her first words to convey her jumble feelings. And the first thing that came to her mind was Alexis.

The fact that Alexis was the son of the person who ruined her life was a blow to her. Not to mention, the young man purposedly approached her just for revenge.

Even so, Chleo still loved him. She remembered that man accompanied her in every struggle. Alexis was the one who always there beside her when she needed it the most. Chleo felt that whatever Alexis did to her was sincere and not because he had a hidden agenda. She still couldn't fully believe that Alexis had deliberately approached her for revenge.

Yes, she was shocked that Alexis was her enemy's son, but she didn't believe the young man used her as a vengeance tool.

After all, Alexis didn't know who she was at the start of their first encounter. They met in their teenage age and fell in love without knowing each other's background. Alexis only found out that Vincentius Regnz was her father two years ago. He looked genuinely surprised, but Chleo couldn't detect any malicious from the man's reaction.

However, ever since that, Alexis acted distant at her, and they went out on a date with awkward feelings. At that time, Chleo couldn't understand her lover's change and overlooked it. Now she knows.

She presumed Alexis loved her genuinely. But when he recognizes her as his father's killer's son, Alexis was torn between his love and grudge.

Chleo knew Alexis was in a dilemma, but the man never told her nor confide about his problem. She never found out the reason until yesterday morning.

Maybe... Alexis struggled deep down in his heart and truly loved her and wanted to marry her. There was no way the young man would be so heartless to hurt her like this.

But, what's the point in thinking about this vague possibility. Chleo would find out once she demanded an explanation from him. She believed Alexis was innocent and never planned an evil plan to get revenge on her father.

If that was the case... she needed to settle her feelings and put an end to this. Chleo still loved Alexis, but she is a married woman now. Furthermore, she would feel guilty for the rest of her life if she kept torturing the good man who already gave her all his whole heart and soul.

That's right. Her feelings toward Axel were regret and not that kind of love. She was sure about this now.

That man already sacrificed many things for her and her family, and it's her turn now. She had to sacrifice her love story to repay Axel's good deeds.

Chleora waited for Axel in the main room while watching the sunset through the opened window.

A few minutes later, Axel walked closer to the main room as it was the closest route toward his parked car. However, he came to a halt when he noticed his wife's presence. Axel didn't expect Chleo to wake up and be there at all.

What was that girl doing so early in the morning?

Axel was still not ready to meet the girl in person. He did not want their conversation to end up hurting his broken soul. All this time, he had been trying to be patient and approached the girl to show her his sincerity. But Chleora always acted cold and said cruel things to him.

Even though he had limitless patience, it doesn't mean his heart had eternal pain-restrain. His heart broke apart, and his soul was crying in pain.

He preferred to see her in her sleep. The girl didn't need to see the man she hated the most, and Axel didn't need to hear those hurtful words.

Axel decided to avoid her and didn't show himself. Nonetheless, he was still standing there, wanting to see the face of his beloved wife much longer.

He knew Chleo didn't like looking at his face while he always wanted to see her face himself. Hence, he only looked at her in secret without announcing his arrival.

Watching her movements, the way she smiled, the beautiful voice she made when joking with her maid, Axel kept them all in his memory. Those memories would be his most treasure in this lonely world.

He would even take pictures of the girl using his phone camera and printed them out for display on his desk. Axel couldn't let his wife know that her images filled his workroom space. Otherwise, it would cause her to hate him more.

He realized he was hopeless and felt like a lunatic stalker, but it was the only way to see her smile when he yearned for her. It was the only thing that could hold his sanity not to go berserk, creating an ice storm just because he was in pain.

Her smile could restrain his power and control his emotion. It left him no choice but to keep her smiling photos with him. Even if it was just a photo, it was enough for him.

Axel took a deep breath before snapping his fingers to teleport. The next second he was in his car. He started the engine and drove the car out of his mansion.

Chleo, who was still waiting, had no idea that Axel had left the house. She kept waiting until her loyal maid appeared with a worried face.

"My lady, I thought you disappeared. Since when did you wake up?"

"Since five in the morning."

"Five?! Why? Did you have a nightmare?"

Chleo shook her head sadly. "Do you know if Master is awake?"

"Master has left since an hour ago."

"What? No way. I've been waiting here, but there was no sign of his coming out. Are you sure he already left?"

The maid was startled to hear that her mistress waited here for her master. It brought the maid joy yet sadness.

What a pity. Her master decided to go by using his 'jumping' skill to miss this chance.

"My lady, do you want me to let the master know that you wish to meet him?"

"No. No need for that. Thanks." Chleo preferred to use her own effort to search for her husband.

Chleo decided to act normal and go about her routine usually. She was curious about how Axel could leave the house without passing through the main room. Is it possible through the back door?

She knew the closest route from Axel's bedroom to the parking field was through this main hall room. Why in the world would her husband walk roundabout to reach his car?

This mansion was not an ordinary elite residence, but it was like a mini castle that once belonged to royalty.

She totally forgot that she married one of the nature rulers and had some unexplained inhuman ability.
