Capítulo 182: Baby Bird

For Drake, the rest of the day and the next one passed in a blur. Not to say it went fast. On the contrary, every minute seemed like a decade. But he couldn't remember much about anything. His mind wandered, thinking of the choice Faith would make.

Emotions distorted his thinking, preventing him from making pleasant conversation. He sucked in a long breath as everyone inside the Grand Hall halted and watched the two massive wooden doors opening. Tonight, his daughter clothed in a white, bell-shaped ball dress with flamboyant flames embroidered on her sleeves and a low-cut top. 

As if it happened yesterday, Drake's memories were clear as daylight. Slumped in a chair beside an empty cradle, he held his crying baby daughter. Large flakes of wet snow whirled lazily by the window as the moonlight cast shadows of tree branches onto the ceiling.
