When Abaddon and Aisling stepped into the room, they looked at each other for a long moment. Aisling smiled with a certain emotion that could only be described as the peace of being home. It was joy, relief and contentment.
The emotion had nothing to do with the final peace of being in a clean room with a luxurious bed and an opulent bath.
It was the comfort that came with being with the person who made her feel at home. She felt a peace that she never had, even when she lived in a cottage in the woods overlooking the open ocean.
Abaddon could not help the rush of love that filled his heart as he looked at the beautiful woman that he could not believe was his.
He had always believed that despite his overwhelming power, fate had dealt him an unfair hand. He would have slept and cut himself away from the world a long time ago, but he was bound to an empty existence.
Like a fiery phoenix in the movie, I am back.
