Capítulo 10: Iron Drakes Lesson
Tvaylin's dream shifted once again to a different spot in the battle, this time he was a Great Iron Dragon leading a platoon of other Iron Lords as he fought tooth and claw against the Red Flame Dragons that had invaded its homeland, anger surged in the Iron Lords armored chests as the saw wontom destruction and murder to his clansmen.
"ROOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRR!!!!!!!!" The Great Iron Lord let out his rage as he took flight and dived into one of his counterparts. He landed his entire weight onto the back of a particularly nasty Fire Drake that had many large scars in its scales where the wounds it had received had been so deep that when they healed the scales hadn't been able to grow back into a smooth surface.
The Iron Dragon flattened the aggressive beast and put its full weight onto its forelegs as it grasped the stunned and trapped Drake's head and savagely bite down deep into its neck and ripping the flesh away he watched as the life left the mortally wounded dragons eyes and it stopped struggling as the dark took its own once again.
Tvaylins eyes shot open and his scales raised as his adrenalin was still pumping through his entire body, he remembered what it felt like to be that Iron Dragon, the power that rippled through its muscles when it went for the kill was still vivid in the little wyrmlings mind, it was intoxicating and he desperately wanted to feel that again!
The dreams were so vivid that he knew that they weren't ordinary dreams, for one, normal dreams were usually warm and full of food and he hardly remembered details. The dreams about dragons didn't come back after he tried to fall back asleep.
Tvaylin woke up as one eyelid fluttered open, he saw his prize from yesterday and immediately ate what was left of his meal before he rolled his shoulders in preparation for what was to come. ' he would need food' tvaylin thought to himself as he shifted his weight and started to leave his temporary lair.
Tvaylin made his way towards where his sisters were sleeping near the food his mother had left yesterday, three of his sisters were asleep and only Drestia was awake. She squawked in alarm as soon as she saw her beast of a brother, she was very angry for what he did yesterday to Selentia but she had no way to get revenge so she did what she could and alerted her sisters to an incoming battle.
Tvaylin had no way of sneaking up on his sisters, the food was in an open area that was brightly lit from large patches of glowing moss on the side of the caves, it was by no means able to illuminate the whole cave and left large shadows near the walls but where the food was located was the brightest area of the who cave as the glowing moss grew on the floor nearby where freshwater pooled out of a crack in the floor for the Wyrmlings to drink.
Tvaylin crouched down when Drestia protested at his sight, the girls were already spitting mad, Drestia was flexing her small claws and digging small furrows in the solid stone as Galeso and Fortina backed her up on each side as they left the Injured Selentia on the food because she would still bleed every time she had to shift her scales on that side of her body, she would have to sit this one out, Tvaylin had done too much damage to her and he had to take this chance to steal some more food.
His sisters were screeching at him trying to be as intimidating as they could, Tvaylin watched from where he crouched as his sisters stayed together near the food, he watched for any weakness that he could exploit, he watched the way the sisters jostled each other when they roared at him but they always kept together defending the food.
A few moments later the dragonets calmed down and just watched attentively for tricks, Tvaylin kept on watching his sisters as he scanned the area for any he could use to his advantage but couldn't see anything that could help with so he retreated into the darkness one foot backwards at a time not showing any vulnerability that would set his sisters on him.
Tvaylin slowly withdrew into the deeper shadows as he started to sneak around to the other side of the area his sisters were defending as their own, he snuck through the shadows as he used the padded part of his claws to quietly shift in the darkened areas, when he seen his sisters start to relax after not seeing their brother for a time they figured he was out exploring as he usually did when not eating or sleeping but they were very wrong, Tvaylin crept closer to where Selentia was recovering as he used the dark area's to blend into the grey stone and stealthily sneak up.
Tvaylin was couldn't risk getting any closer to Selentia, he could smell the meat and the blood as it made him more and more hungry and his careful approach was ruined by his finger as he jumped at the meat while roaring, he collided with his wounded sisters pushing her away while she screeched in pain from her wounds reopening.
The pitiful screech that came from the injured dragonette instantly drew the other three sisters at a dead run, Tvaylin started to take big bites out of the meat and swallowing them, down his gullet, he had seconds before he was attacked, Drestia little and feisty as she was, was able to get to Tvaylin a half step before her sisters, she crashed into his side claws first. It felt like hitting a wall she complained to herself as her claws harmlessly slid off his side but she still managed to distract him as her weight made him lose a precious bite of food that he was about to swallow.
Tvaylin was enraged at his sisters action! He was eating that! Tvaylin forgot about the meat and focused on his sibling that came at him with full force.
