<Breaking News: Explosion rocks the National Police Museum!>
-
<An explosive device went off at the National Police Museum during a celebrative event held at the venue.
<Reports are still coming in but it looks like there were zero casualties after the blast due to the prompt response of the security at the venue.
<According to witnesses who attended the event, a museum staff fortunately noticed the explosive device early and raised an alarm. This allowed the venue's security to organise a prompt evacuation before the bomb went off.
AUTHOR’S RAMBLING
I don’t know if it’s me, but it feels like every video of Spanish-speaking politicians I have seen, they all refer to the President as El Presidente, even when speaking in English. That’s probably me stereotyping but I felt it was a subtle way to show the difference between the DG and the Minister in their speech.
Speaking of those two, I don’t really plan on them showing up again, so I couldn’t be bothered to name them. Naming is not as easy as it sounds.
I think I am just realizing just how much I can get away with by using a news broadcast. If I do it right, I can info-dump as much as I want without it looking so obvious I am info dumping. It’s like I discovered a magical cheat code.
And it only took me 900-plus chapters to realise that.
Goes to show you never stop learning, I guess.
Okay, that’s all I got today.
P.S: In case you are wondering, Dirección Nacional de Inteligencia (DNI) is Spanish for National Intelligence Directorate or National Directorate for Intelligence (I think). Sounded too much like the NDI so I decided to keep it in Spanish i.e. DNI, so it’s not confused with the fictional NDI I created for Nigeria.
P.S 2: In case you are also wondering, the real Intel Agency in Nigeria is the National Intelligence Services (NIS). It was just that what they do isn’t clearly defined, and sometimes overlaps with the DSS, plus some other things I want to do with the agency, that I just decided to create my own agency at the start of the story. In retrospect, I might not have needed to bother.
Hmm...
Anyway, I am done for real now.
See you in the next chapter.
