Capítulo 41: Mental Fortitude
"Ready." Dustan stated as the metal coin that he is given is spinning on top of his palms. He is not even focusing on it as he is looking at the progression of the others.
"Ready." Esme stated as the three marbles spun on the top of her palms. At first, she focused on them, but she could do it subconsciously a few seconds later.
"I am also ready." Whiz stated as the phone in his hand is typing the numbers with even spaces in between.
"I was born ready." Patricia stated as her right hand started morphing slowly from a toddler to an elderly's.
"I am ready as well." Jihan stated as his chi covered the exterior of the balloon.
"Since they are now ready, you can proceed. Start with something small like slight irritation. I will tell you if you can increase the intensity." Joe stated.
"Wow! You are really cut out for this leader job. First time that I am actually proud of you. You were more of a follower back in the silver city." Adrian muttered as he stepped forward on the five people that are standing.
Adrian then practiced what he has done about a thousand times every incarnation. Abilities that can be extended is a matter of practice and aura control. Control of abilities is based on a person's mental fortitude which Adrian does not lack.
Adrian's ability to sense auras of people is also made using his own aura that is abundant due to the three unique souls that fused into one in his body. The soul of the Child of Gaia is already strong but adding the other two made it soar beyond belief.
He spread his aura to cover the five individuals that are using their abilities. He needed delicate focus or else he might blast them with a wave of negative emotions that might make them mad. He needed to be careful or else they will lose their mind and that would make Adrian's job more difficult since he will be the one restoring them.
Since the five are not that far from him, he did not need to extend his aura to cover the whole room. Adrian could feel what each of them are feeling right now as some of them easily exposed their emotions. Some tried to conceal their emotions which is a great tactic when it comes to empaths.
"Let us start with the feeling of displeasure." Adrian stated as he increased the influence of his aura upon the five.
Adrian introduced the sudden feeling of displeasure upon them. Some of their face twitched a little but their tasks did not stop. Adrian is impressed as some people will blank out for a second due to the feeling of sudden displeasure.
"They passed the first level. Let us move towards the second one which is disgust." Adrian reported.
Adrian's aura started to change in color that was faded green to a lighter shade of green. Like with the first level, the effect is not that prevalent, but Whiz did pause for about a second before he continued. The others carried on, but their faces show a disgusted look which made Sofia chuckle a little.
"It seems that Whiz paused for a second. Please be more mindful and not get your emotions get to you." Joe reminded everyone.
"Hey! My mind suddenly thought of the smell of smelly wet socks that you feel you taste just because you got a whiff of its scent. Your lucky I did not puke in the moment." Whiz countered as he shivered but the phone he held still continued counting.
"They passed the second level. I will proceed to more aggressive emotion." Adrian stated.
Adrian's aura that touched the others turned from light green to red. This is when the five showed signs of instability. Dustan's coin started spinning faster than before. The marbles that Esme controlled started to revolve faster than before.
Even Whiz, who is usually smiling cheekily, started to overlord the phone that he is holding and the smell of something burning could be smelled in the room. It did not take long for the phone to totally fry up and short circuit. Whiz recovered from his trance when the phone shocked him a little bit.
Jihan and Patricia faired better than the others as they somehow controlled their anger immediately. Jihan's chi almost popped the balloon due to supplying too much but he immediately gained control in about three seconds.
Patricia got spooked for a second as her transformation reverted a stage, but she recovered the fastest at one second. Joe expected that Whiz would be the first one out as the young kid has yet to fully control his emotions. He did not blame him and just told Whiz to sit the next one out as he needs to rest due to the stress that he received.
"This is easy. Is this really everything that an empath can do?" Esme challenged Adrian as she can now channel the anger that she is experiencing.
"I got to say but I was expecting much since I have heard from the other biyatch that you made Sofia lose her footing." Patricia stated as she is getting too confident with herself.
Adrian did not answer to their provocations because that is what humans down whenever they experience immense stress from their emotions. They either lash out or channel it into something different. It would have been perfect if Adrian did not expose his mischievous side.
"Is that so?" Adrian stated as he smiled. Anyone who knows him and has seen that smile before will immediately shiver. To those who are unaware, that smile looked heavenly as the mixture his of cute and handsome face made him appear attractive.
"If you want to know what Sofia experienced then I will let you taste it. The real definition of the word FEAR." Adrian stated as his aura changed from red to pitch black.
