Zeke probably didn't see it coming as I yanked with all of my might to make him face me. The shock on his face was evidence enough for me to say my hunch was correct.

Things suddenly escalated, as I found myself unable to hold off my irritation with him.

There was no thinking twice – not even a single second spared to think – and my palms connected with the man's cheek with a loud slap.

Zeke's face turned red where I hit him, his hand shooting up to touch the sore skin.

"Becky cried so hard because of you last night. For just a small thing such as a rejected kiss, you acted like a baby throwing a tantrum." I hissed.

Ezekiel's eyes dilated, and he looked as if he was trying to hold himself back from hitting me.

His hand was balled into a shaking fist, and I puffed air to get my stray bangs away from my face. I returned his gaze with equal intensity, but then he sighed and turned away.
