Once he found out, Zaki would still hunt Dylan in the human world, causing several accidents for him to die. But since Dylan's soul remained in the land of the dead as a grim reaper, Zaki would not notice this change.

Azrael could use Dylan's body to take care of Samantha and Selene for now. And Dylan also had the opportunity to visit the human world as a grim reaper. He could see Samantha as well once in a while.
