Capítulo 26: Nightly Visit

"Ed, what are you thinking about?" Aya asked him because he suddenly stayed silent and she could see him smiling a bit.

"Nothing, I'm just thinking if there will be a giant feline visiting me in my sleep tomorrow," he joked with her.

No one knew about his deal with Leona, only Altea knew about it, and he had instructed it to keep quiet about the matter.

If the girls were to know about it, then they might mess up his plan by stopping Leona before she makes any move.

Ed wanted to push the girl to the limit so she would confess her true identity, if she could not get her revenge by being a man then she might try another way such as a honey trap, and that way she would expose her real gender to him.

"Eh? Wouldn't it be better if you are the one visiting? I mean man supposed to take the first step," Aya replied shyly as she thought he was inviting her.

He could only look at her in confusion as he could feel the prickly glare of Dea by her side. The girl was on good terms with him, but his image was that of a Casanova that hoodwinked her best friend.

"I finished my lunch, I will be going first since I have work to do." Unable to take the glare any longer, he finished his food and said his goodbye quickly, and got back to his office.

"Captain, Should I stop Leon?" Altea asked him as it did not know his intention, it only knew he gave the girl some leeway to motivate her.

The AI had seen how great was the motivation, Leona was working with the AI to develop the new laser weapon from the blueprint Ed had provided her, her progress was so fast and she even started to improve them with her own understanding.

She didn't waste her time idle but keep improving her design. Even the quick shield already has some upgrade plan that she created so it could be a proper mecha, they just need material to upgrade it.

The Alpha-Charlie don't have the material needed to upgrade the mecha or make a prototype of the laser weapon so they would need to reach the Millenium base before doing both.

Seeing her doing a great job, Ed actually wanted her to upgrade the C-2 as well but he did not as he did not trust her enough yet to give her the C-2's blueprint as she might send it to other people on the one-hour free time she gets every month.

"You don't need to stop him, Just report her every move to me, if she wants to sneak to my room then let her do what she wants," he instructed the AI.

"She has not done anything suspicious yet, currently, she is working on her room and has not left the room for six hours," It reported.

"Keep me updated," he commanded.

"Yes, Captain. I will inform you if there is something that requires your attention," Altea answered readily.

He checked the time before going back to work. There were a lot of things requiring his attention, so he could not afford to idle around.

He might only have a single ship to take care of but he was busy preparing for his future business in the Million base, he needed to prepare so he could proceed with his plan once he reached the pirate base.

When he noticed it was already midnight, "less than 24 hours until the promised time, she should start her preparation around now," he thought.

Of course, he was not going to wait all night to monitor her, he still needed his rest, Altea would warn him if anything needed his attention.

He went to sleep in his room and woke up at seven the next morning, just as he finished his morning routine, Altea already prepared a report for him.

"Captain, Leon had hacked some of our systems, as per your instruction I did not stop him. Currently, he has access to your cabin room and office. In addition, she also gained permission from our storage room," It reported.

"Let her have access to them. Once she starts her move and gets into my room or office, I want you to take back her access," he instructed.

"Understood, Captain. How about the storage room access?" it asked again.

"Report to me what she takes from the storage," he told it as he had a suspicion as to what the girl needs to visit the storage form

The crew was unarmed inside the Alpha-Charlie, only in an emergency would he let them carry weapons for protection.

If Leona wanted to kill him, then she would need a weapon since Ed was carrying a gun. It would be stupid if she attacks him unarmed.

The chance that he would lose his gun once more was too small, he was not stupid enough to make the same mistake twice.

Ed had asked Altea to lock his gun with a biometric log, unless he gave access to other people, they would not be able to use his gun.

He had also placed a lot of safety measures to welcome the girl, just in case he got injured he had the full heal nanobot from the system.

"I can't wait to welcome her," he grinned as he went to work.

There are two things he liked other than his work, the first was drinking and the second was making other plays according to his plan.

It was noon when Altea reported to him once more, "Captain, Leon had visited the storage room. He took a gun that we purposely left there and some mechanic tools."

"Good, Let her unlock the gun but lock it once more when she started her plan," he commanded.

Ed had set the stage for the girl. He could not wait to play his role and act in front of her, "This will be fun," he grinned.

He had some visitors during the day. They reported things like usual, Arnold would come and report about the crew and their performance while Aya visited him to have some small talk.

"And that's my upgrade plan for the Red Falcon's rifle," Leona told him in her daily report.

"Good, We will implement them once we get the required material. If there is nothing else, then you can leave," he told her with a smile.

She left her report on his desk before going out of the room. He tried to act as normal as possible and tried to keep a poker face.

Even if she left the room, he did not stop his act. He started to type on a datapad, 'Altea, isolate the report' he told the AI through it.

The report was soon covered in a glass dome that blocked any sound, only then that he dropped his act.

"She tried to outsmart me," he pulled out a scanner before he scanned the report. It detected a recording device that would send whatever he said to Leona.

Ed was suspicious when the girl gave him a stack of paper instead of transferring the data. If they were in his old world, then it would be normal, but here it is really unusual.

Of course, he did not block it all the time, it would be suspicious if the recording device could not hear anything, instead, he used it to give her false information.

"I have finished my work for today, I should sleep early," he said to himself so the supposedly hidden listener could hear him.

It was almost the time for her taming chip to turn off and he did not want to make a mess in his office.

He got to his cabin and went to his bed without changing. He was using an armored suit and had his gun with him.

Once the clock hit 11 pm, the room suddenly lost power before the hatch opened slowly. He could hear a light footstep coming toward him.

"Here she comes," he thought as he prepared to go into action.

She seems to be more alert than he expected. She even turned off the room electricity even though he had made her think he was asleep.

The footsteps stopped beside his bed, Leona could not see him while he could not see her as he covered his body and head with a blanket.

Ed suddenly had a bad feeling as Altea supposed to report to him through his earpiece. He decided to move first instead of waiting for the girl to make the first move.

He raised from his bed when he heard a snapping sound beside him. He could see Leona's shocked face as she pointed a gun-like weapon at the place his head was. He could see his pillow was stuck to his bed.

She raised her weapon toward his face while he raised his armored hand to block his face, "Fuck! She didn't use the gun I prepared!" he was alarmed as she was using some kind of low-tech nail gun instead of a high-tech gun.
