Chapter 5: Week 6
"Huh?" Ro asked forgetting his question in her admiration.
"Are you warm enough?" An image darted into Ro's mind of her running her hands along Kyzul's chest and pushing his robe down off his shoulders. Ro flushed with embarrassment and felt her body warm slightly. It felt as though her hands had really been on his chest.
"I'm fine." She said clearing her throat. Kyzul took a step towards her and another image flashed into her mind. Kyzul, his robe around his waist, pushing her down onto her back and kissing her neck. Ro could feel the pressure of teeth and tongue and lips on her delicate skin as if he had just done it. Her body warmed farther, and she looked away from Kyzul, blushing.
"You're not seeing that are you?" she asked frantically. Even if she couldn't control her dirty mind when she was around him, she still didn't want him to know about it.
"Seeing what?" He asked with an amused smile. She sighed in relief.
"Oh nothing." She said. He had come closer to her now.
"You can tell me anything, you know." His voice was soft like a caress. He leaned closer to her. His red eyes seemed to pulsate in time to her heartbeat and Ro felt as if they were drawing her in. "What are you seeing?"
Another image appeared. Ro's breath caught and she closed her eyes tightly. She hugged her arms around herself as if she could hide her body from the feel of his imaginary hands on her skin. She was getting turned on and her body temperature was skyrocketing. Her breathing was uneven.
"It's nothing." She gasped out.
"Are you sure?" Kyzul asked grabbing her hands. A pleasant warmth spread from where he was touching her. Ro shivered and looked at him again. Her flushed skin felt electrified under his touch when coupled with the images that kept flooding into her mind. Ro had to concentrate hard to stifle the feelings of desire and need that these images were waking within her.
"Yeah," she said shakily, "I am fine." She saw amusement reflected in his face but there was something darker in his eyes.
"You look a little flushed."
"I'm fine." She repeated unsteadily. Kyzul's smile was darker this time.
"Good. I wanted to talk to you about what Alexi was trying to do just now." The memory of the tower flashed into Ro's mind. The image was fleeting and was quickly replaced by a picture of Alexi' fingers sparkling with black fire. She blinked and met Kyzul's eyes again. Irritation was written across his face. "He was going to mark you."
"He was going to mark me?" she repeated not understanding.
An image of Alexi with a shard of ice piercing his heart sprouted in Ro's mind. His blood was so red. Her mind recoiled back from it horrified.
"It's a precursor to the claiming ritual. The mark indicates to other males that the person who gave it is interested in claiming you for their own. Once you are marked it is only a matter of time until you are claimed. The Claiming ritual is where a female or male become branded by one of us. The brand tells the world that the person wearing it belongs to the person who claimed them." Once you are claimed you belong to the person who branded you for life, in most cases." Kyzul's voice had thickened.
This time Ro heard voices, "Who do you belong to?" A husky male voice like Kyzul's asked, "Tell me." He ordered gently.
"You," she heard her own voice say, "I belong to you." An image in her mind of Kyzul smiled brilliantly while possessiveness darkened his eyes. He slowly lowered his mouth to hers and Ro trembled with the feelings of desire that welled up inside of her. She blinked her hazy eyes and saw the real Kyzul staring at her. She wanted him to want her too. She wanted his touch. The Kyzul in her vision growled and the vision disappeared like a snowflake in a fire.
Ro dropped to her knees in the snow and covered her flushed face with her hands. Her body reeled from the feelings of anticipation that were still swirling inside her. After a moment she risked a glance up at Kyzul's face. He looked angry. His mouth was set in a grim line and his jaw was working. Meeting his eyes, she saw they were glowing bright red and the expression in them was dark. Ro looked down at the snow, feeling embarrassment.
Kyzul made a low noise deep in his throat as he dropped to his knees in front of her. He grabbed one of her hands again and forced Ro to look at him again. His expression had gone from angry to unreadable. "It's against the rules here, in theory, but it still happens in practice. That's why you need to leave now. I'll find a house for you and your mother to live in and you can stay there for as long as you want. You can remain free. If you stop doing so well in the magic classes, the school should let you go. Do you understand?" His eyes frantically searched hers. She pulled her hands out of his.
"I do but I can't. I've never wanted anything the way I want to do magic. I'll just work so hard that I become the best. Then no one will be able to claim me, right?" She said with a shaky voice. Kyzul's shoulders drooped. "It'll be fine." Ro reassured him, reaching her hand up and lightly touching his hair. Rather than shy away from the inappropriate gesture, Kyzul leaned into it turning it into a caress. Realizing what she had done, Ro immediately tried to pull her hand back. He caught it in his.
"I'll do what I can to help you then." He told her with a meaningful look. Then he smiled like normal and said, "Now you be partner one and come up with a place and picture me there. I'll be along in a few minutes."
