Capítulo 480: C480

The pitch-black thunder unleashed its full power, effortlessly tearing through the beams of light from the 71 Demon God Pillars.

"Roar—"

The abomination let out a deafening roar and grabbed hold of the heavenly chains sealed inside it. Swinging them around like makeshift weapons, it hurled them at the surrounding Heroic Spirits.

The first chain whipped straight toward Karna. Caught off guard, he had no time to dodge. Instead, he channeled all his magical energy into his golden armor. This wasn't just any armor—it was a gift from the Sun God Surya, tough enough to make even the Indian gods find hard to break.

However, the irony lay in the fact that the abomination contained an aspect of Sun God Surya, the same god responsible for Karna's origin and his golden armor. Because of this, the chains were exceptionally effective against him.

With a sound akin to thunder, his golden armor shattered as the chains struck him, sending him flying through the air.

Human strength pales in comparison to divine power. Complicating matters further, this abomination was a combination of various divine aspects, all enhanced by the Lord's cup.

While this was happening, Artoria, Scathach, and Okita Souji maneuvered through the chaos, attacking the monster from different angles. Meanwhile, Merlin, Arjuna, and the recently arrived Emiya focused on long-range assaults against the creature.

But no matter what they threw at it—be it magical cannons, arrows from the fire god, or a rain of holy swords—nothing could get past the monster's divine barriers.

King Solomon smacked his hand on his throne.

"Ka-ka-ka—"

The Temple of Time roared to life.

One by one, its many sub-temples adjusted their positions, rising above the main temple. Inside each of these temples, the Demon God Pillars loomed large. Their eyes, trained on the monster, fired upon it like artillery, unleashing a relentless barrage.

But among them, only one, Barbatos, was still busy with the one-eyed giants.

"Boom! Boom!"

From every direction, the might of seventy-one Demon God Pillar cannons bore down on the monster, making its barrier tremble.

"Roar—!!!"

The abomination let out another earth-shattering roar, grabbing the chains with a vengeance. With a sharp crack, it yanked them out and swung them like a weapon, aiming right at one of the Demon God Pillars.

"Boom!" The chain hit its mark, slicing the Demon God Pillar clean in half. Its form vanished as if it were merely a puff of smoke.

"You mongrel, you mongrel, you mongrel!!!" Gilgamesh was livid.

Just then, another bolt of black lightning zapped him. Even though he put up his defenses in time, he still ended up singed and covered in soot.

Turning toward Shirou with a scowl, he demanded, "How much longer must we put up with this?"

"It's almost there, just one more minute!" Shirou called back. Deep down, he knew it was a bit of a stretch. Realistically, he'd need at least another five minutes to fully recharge his magical energy.

Gilgamesh, still a bit worse for wear, coughed up some blood and rubbed his chest. "You're holding back on us, Eternal King. You're acting like a restaurant owner, saying the wait will be shorter than it is. Don't bother hiding the real time you need to recharge your mana. We're Heroic Spirits; morale isn't an issue for us..."

And then, another cough wracked his body, bringing up more blood.

Shirou stared at Gilgamesh, taken aback. Did this guy have no sense of tact? And there he was, casually spitting up blood. Did he really have to point out the inconvenient truth right now?

"Roar—!!!"

The abomination let out another deafening roar, surrounded by crackling black thunder and intricate layers of protective barriers.

It had fully yanked the heavenly chains free, now brandishing them like an iron whip, swinging it up and down with abandon.

The whip left an intimidating trail in the air, making everyone think twice before carelessly stepping closer.

Watching this, Gilgamesh's anger flared up again.

The heavenly chains were a no-go zone as far as Gilgamesh was concerned; he wasn't about to let anyone else toy with them. He charged forward aggressively, but with a sharp "snap," the chains whipped him square in the face.

Shirou checked his magical energy and cautiously stepped back. Just then, the abomination's gaze locked in on him. With a menacing roar, the creature hurled the chains straight at him.

"My king!" Artoria cried out.

"Shirou!" Scathach added, just as alarmed.

Shirou's consciousness synced up with the Tower of Light. With a mere thought, he directed a beam of light to shatter the incoming chains.

Honestly, he was getting a bit annoyed. While he might not be a powerhouse, he was no pushover either. The chains might have been great for restraining gods, but to him, they were just hefty pieces of metal. He blasted them apart with a single shot. Still, the monster was relentless. Clinging to the chains, it howled and kept swinging.

The force behind its chain swings was immense, enough to make the surrounding space tremble just a bit.

Turning to Gilgamesh, he said, "Gilgamesh, do something about your weapon!"

"Naturally, this king knows!"

Gilgamesh regained his footing, lifting his arm high as he called out, "Return to me, my friend!"

The chains that had been aimed at Shirou hesitated for a moment before veering off towards Gilgamesh.

The monster roared in defiance, forcefully yanking the chains back before swinging them full force at Gilgamesh.

With another sharp 'snap,' instead of returning to Gilgamesh's treasury, they once again whipped across his face.

This time, both of his cheeks swelled up, and blood was visibly drawn.

His face was a mess!

"You mongrel, you mongrel, you mongrel! How dare you use Enkidu against me!" Gilgamesh was boiling with anger.

But his rage felt futile. Unless he used Ea, he had no way of significantly harming the abomination since it was using the Lord's cup.

Even his precious chains were now being used against him by the abomination. Furious yet powerless, he was caught in a bind.

The irony wasn't lost on anyone. The chains, initially designed to restrain gods, were now being brandished against Gilgamesh by the very creature he intended to subdue. The situation was almost laughably absurd.

Meanwhile, the Demon God Pillars were amassing magical energy, preparing to unleash another concentrated barrage on the abomination.

The creature, however, proved to be one step ahead, swiftly sweeping its chains and smashing three of the Demon God Pillars with its immense strength.

Gilgamesh seethed with helpless rage. In that very moment, the abomination roared and swung its chains toward him once more.

"Return to me!" Gilgamesh shouted desperately as the gate to his treasury swung open. The chains, resembling serpents, strained to enter the gate with all their might. But just as they were about to slip through, the abomination extended its monstrous hands and violently yanked them back.

Gilgamesh clenched his teeth in frustration as the abomination executed a forceful swing, causing the chains to snake around Merlin's slender waist.

"This is..." Merlin couldn't help but be taken aback. In the next moment, the creature gave a mighty tug, hoisting Merlin into the sky and swinging him about like a hammer.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa—! Help, help!" Merlin found himself caught in the most dizzying aerial spin, his cries echoing through the sky. Then, the abomination flung Merlin in Gilgamesh's direction.

Gilgamesh quickly pulled out his shield.

With a resounding "bang," Merlin's face collided heavily with the shield.

"Ouch... ouch!" Tears welled up in his eyes.

"Roar—!!!" The abomination let out another deafening roar before flinging Merlin in Scathach's direction.

Scathach picked up her spear, and Merlin screamed in fear, "It's my real body! The one that's still alive. Don't act rashly!"

"Tsk."

She clicked her tongue in annoyance, flipped the spearhead, and used the shaft to smash Merlin away. With a solid 'thud,' he was sent flying through the air.

He grimaced in pain, "You really don't pull your punches..."

The abomination used the chains to bind Merlin, treating him like a hammer as it swung him back and forth through the sky.

At that moment, the abomination flung Merlin in Shirou's direction.

"Save me... save me, my king!" Merlin cried out in panic.

At first, Shirou had intended to save Merlin, seeing him flying toward him like a shooting star. However, when he caught sight of Merlin's messy and disgusting face, he couldn't help but step aside and dodge to the side.

"Why aren't you saving me?" Merlin, appearing quite worse for wear, asked with a resentful expression.

"Do you even need to ask? Your face is simply too disgusting."

Merlin: "..."
