He woke up with a start, his heart beating violently in his chest. The last thing he could remember was protecting his beloved. The attack! Oh no!

His gaze looked around adjusting to the darkness. He felt a familiar weight in his embrace. They were still in the same position they had been. He was so afraid.

The woman beneath him was breathing yet it felt odd. Her breath came out shallow and laboured. What did they do to his woman?

The room was soon lit up. He closed his eyes trying to adjust his sight to the sudden brightness. Several footsteps walked toward them. He didn't need to open his eyes to know that they were closing in on them.

Once again, Arif took on a protective stance. " Don't come any closer. I don't care who you are. She is mine. Whatever she does, she is mine to love and protect. Get away from us!"
