Capítulo 5: Chapter 5: Ashen World (Happy New Year)
September 30, 2020, evening, ten o'clock.
Zhang Yanhang had already turned off the lights and was lying in bed ready to sleep when he suddenly felt the air become thick and the texture of the bedsheet beneath him abruptly change to that of smooth, hard plastic.
Accompanied by these distinct features that time pause brought, the familiar text option box once again floated before Zhang Yanhang's eyes.
"Enter Ashen World?"
"Option One: Yes (Successfully enter Ashen World and gain the ability for bodily datafication and rapid power gain channels, at the cost of possibly losing the chance to eat breakfast tomorrow morning due to staying up late.)"

Zhang Yanhang had encountered similar options twice before and had even worked out a pattern: this option would trigger once every four days, and each time, it would be at ten o'clock at night—if he were lying in bed during this period, the option would trigger.
However, on the previous two occasions, Zhang Yanhang, due to his indecisiveness, had struggled with whether or not to enter Ashen World, and ultimately chose the third option, so his relationship with the ragged-clothed young lady in his dreams had gradually warmed up.
