Capítulo 19: 19. Negotiations.
"What is with you goddess trying to dig out my secrets? Even my own goddess hasn't asked anything about my secrets." I frown at the duo before standing behind Hel and patting her head. "Ah atleast I found myself a good goddess."
"Ehehe." Hel wiggles happily at the praise.
"Anyway, I don't really want replicas of my equipment floating around. All of them are highly dangerous." If someone managed to get their hands on a dragon buster they could probably instant kill me in my dragoon form.
"All weapons are dangerous, what do you want in exchange for allowing me to look at your equipment." Hephaestus says seriously.
I shake my head. "You have plenty of things I want, but most of those could be acquired through different means. You are basically asking for my family weapons, I believe you have a magic swordsmith here? It would be like asking to learn about his family swordsmithing techniques. However I've heard of plenty of magic swords, mine however I guarantee are unique."
I would love to see another dragoon spirit or dragon buster sword in this world. Not only could my blade instant kill any dragoon but I would gain another one for my own collection.
"Besides there is another nosey goddess here just benefiting from all your blabbing." I frown at the red head. "Now are you able to make the things i requested in my sketches? If so just send the bill to Loki."
"And if i refuse to make your sketches and ban you from buying anything from my familia?" Hephaestus asks seriously. As the cities most prominent blacksmith almost all of the quality equipment is sold by or made by her familia. She could easily ruin the life of an adventurer.
"Threats huh? So be it." I grab my sketches off the desk. "Let's go my little goddess." I pull Hel and we head out of the room.
Loki looks at Hephaestus with some shock. Not many people would know this but Hephaestus would do almost whatever it took to get her hands on things her divinity called out for, but then again that was almost all gods or goddesses. Even the Crozzo family known for making magic swords, she just went and bought all the weapons that she could find and studied them until she could make her own.
Hephaestus herself was a bit shocked by the direct refusal herself and was kicking herself for being too forceful. The boy didn't even seem the slight bit perturbed to be denied from her familia store.
"I take it he doesn't respond well to threats." Loki says with a frown from the side.
"I was a bit rash." Hephaestus admits with a frown of her own.
"I understand, if you can't buy them then you threaten them, however it seems you met someone who couldn't be bought or threatened. For your sake however I hope you don't do anything foolish, even I would not wish to anger my sister and she is quite taken with her first familia member. To the point I doubt she wouldn't unleash her arcanum on your entire family just to send you back to heaven if you harmed him." Loki knew exactly how crazy her sister was and harming her first familia member? She shivered at the thought of that crazy goddess coming undone, years of solitude had driven her a bit mad and she craved attention. Even she and her father were a bit revolted by her divinity and only visited every so often.
"I messed up. My divinity acted up and kind of took over." Hephaestus says with a sad look.
Meanwhile Hel was fuming as the walked out of the smithy, she was letting off a particularly dark aura that was killing all the plants in the area.
"Relax, we can find a different blacksmith." I tell her with a quick smile.
"Hmph that bitch had the gal to threaten you!" She says angrily.
"It's fine. Just relax okay?" I give the angry goddess a quick hug and the dark gloomy aura quickly vanishes. "I'll ask my dungeon guide if there are any other blacksmith gods in the area however I'll probably have to send someone else since they can apparently see my equipment and I don't need any crazed god after me."
It takes a minute but Hel calms down. "Mm." She nods.
"Alright now then let's go get some other items on my shopping list then we can head back home." I tell her patting her head. I pull put my shopping list and head towards the nearest shopping area to ask for direction to an apothecary.
Inside the apothecary I purchase some scales, glass bottles, grinders, pestle and mortar, basic items needed for mixing gunpowder and crushing materia and raw materials like charcoal.
"Well not everything can go our way I suppose." I say as we drop off our items at the house. "Hopefully I'll have some better luck with a different god or goddess."
"Mmm good luck, sorry I couldn't help much." Hel says with a frown.
"You did incredibly well and besides you got to meet your sister. I just don't respond well to being threatened." I admit. It pisses me off to be threatened or given an ultimatum and usually I respond in the opposite way people expect me to. "I might head down to the dungeon and do some killing to earn more money, no need to make Loki pay since we aren't going to be buying anything from Hephaestus."
"Oh! How about I send a message to my father and have him make them?" Hel asks suddenly. A black crow appears next to her and Caws.
"You can do that?" i ask.
"Yep! Can i have your sketches?" She asks.
I pass her my papers and she grabs a note and scribbles on it before attaching everything to the crow which flies out the window before looking at me.
"Thank you. Hopefully he will do it." I smile at the goddess who looks happy.
"No problem, as your goddess it is my duty to help you!" She says firmly.
I just nod my head. "Well then I can head to the dungeon to earn some more money then, I'll visit my guide tomorrow. Just kind of want to blow off some steam now."
I head upstairs and grab my hunting gear and new gloves along with my cloak. This time I'll go with less magic and more stabby so I don't come home stinking like a burned dumpster fire.
"Okay Hel I'll be back in a bit!" I call out before leaving.
