To Celina's surprise and glee, Eve not only came to the dinner, but even appeared early enough to help with the preparations. It was especially great since everyone else still wasn't around, including Xia.
"Weird. I thought Xia will be there already," Eve commented as she cleaned pigeons' carcasses. Her movements were slow and awkward, signifying a lack of practice. It was painful for Celina to watch, twice so since she couldn't do much to help besides washing vegetables and offering advice.
"Don't cut at random, follow the lines of muscle, Eve. As for Xia, I think she's probably together with her new friend."
Eve paused, then traced the lines of pigeon meat with her finger, before continuing to cut with more surety. "You mean that Kang you mentioned?"
"The same. Do you think…" Celina paused, suddenly filled with a terrible thought. "Do you think…"
