The Dark Moon Compound was as active as ever. Not a single member dallied despite the fact the Patriarch had not returned for a number of days. A few Imperial soldiers passed through for a quick replenishment of provisions.
The only other problem they had was with an uninvited guest that stopped by. Xia Yuning was very adamant about speaking with Liang Yu. She was finally expelled from the North Lord's Mansion. Without Liang Yu looking over certain matters, it was hard to intercept the message again.
Especially with several ones going out at once. There was also no reason to anymore.
"How much longer till he returns?" Xia Yuning was frustrated as she spoke to Liang Jian. "I mean seriously, what is he up to?"
"Who knows." Liang Jian felt everything would be ok. Just a feeling. And by the looks of the sky, it would be. "The Flame Birds are ok. They know if their master is in trouble or not."
Popeye had grown pretty massive. The other demon beasts were big as well. As they flew through the air, the air turned warmer but very comforting. The qi was rich every morning compared to the nighttime.
At that time a guard came up in a hurry. He slipped a message to Liang Jian. The contents were nothing to major.
"Then bring him forward then." Liang Jian ordered. The guard left quickly to bring the prisoner. "I suggest you leave this room for the time being. It will not be pretty." The headstrong young lady was not deterred at all. "Suit yourself. You are lucky Liang Yu gave an order to take a delicate approach with dealing with the traitors of the nation. Oh wait.. you are not part of the North Lord's Mansion anymore."
As the two took verbal jabs at each other, Liang Yin and Lin Yin walked forward dragging a body with them. Liang Zhan Tian was chained up with his cultivation completely locked. With a toss, he was in the center of the room.
"Is that.." Xia Yuning was beyond shocked they treated the man this way. But then again, the Dark Moon Family was extremely weird lately. 'I can not believe my father suggested this course of action. Even more so with the rumor that Liang Yu is the one who said the North Lord Mansion were traitors.'
As things went on inside, things were odd outside.
Liang Yu walked through the gates of the compound unhurried. A lot on his mind as he moved. The forces paid respect and kept to their work.
It wasn't long before they were bombarding him with questions. As he heads to the main house, Astral Sense washed over the place in every direction. Liang Yu took note of what needed to be improved even further in the future for major defense.

After the regular talks were done and he handed over the chests of gold with manuals to Linlin, he passed the other items to Macara to long over. She was happy to be given more responsibility. Only a small glance to Xia Yuning before sitting down. Liang Jian then gave a report of matters of the last few days.
"I see." Liang Yu digested the news well enough. He did not announce the fight he had with the Azure Feather Family's guardian. Especially with the ties, she had with Lin Yin and Xia Yuning. "Well, the Imperial Family will make their move soon against the North Guardian Mansion and its forces. Best to cut them down more before they become a part of the Rebel forces outright."
"That won't happen!" Xia Yuning shouted. A few looked at her before turning back to Liang Yu. "My father.."
"Your father is a traitor which is his own issue. I really do not care about it. Just care about ending this disaster that is building up." Liang Yu shook his head and waved his hand in a dismissive way. "Right now we need to keep tabs on those who would gladly die for him and push him to be the new Emperor."
"That is a lot of people."
"Fan Tiangang, and Hong Tianhui will be a problem. The charisma they carry will push the troops to lay down their lives in droves. I am sure that they will start increasing their numbers since the Imperial Army is aware of the situation." Liang Yu rubbed his chin a little in agitation. "The Noble Families and various Federal Lords have started to cause an issue I take it?"
"Yes." Lin Yin answered. "Reports from all over confirm it. We also had to pull our people back to just the city. If not.. the bandits might have caused a problem. I am sure you would agree."
"I do. Securing the city as well as continueing to increase economic development and the change in society is much better. Developing during a time of war is not so bad and the increase of childbirth that usually results during it is a must." Rolling his head from side to side he thought about what should be going on and the best way to deal with it. "The Eternal Heaven Family should be up to some nonsense now. But not a major issue really."
"And what to do about her?"
"Hmmm bring her in. Best to explain what is happening to her sister." As the guards went to get the girl, Liang Yu finally addressed Xia Yuning. "Why are you here by the way?"
"I needed to ask questions. Something tells me you have the answer." Xia Yuning looked around at the guards in the room. They stood at attention and had a firm lock on her. "They do not look friendly at all."
"You are the lover of someone who is a traitor, who colludes with a known terrorist and calls him brother, who is tied to a group that has continued over the decades to overthrow the current regime, a father who is leading a rebellion killing people he is sworn to protect and fight beside." Liang Yu's eyes bared down on her hard. The purple glow causing her to shiver. "These are all truths that would exist even if I was not alive or mentioning them. By default that makes you dangerous. You are not a stupid girl, so I am sure you understand."
Xia Yuning hands gripped tightly. She did not raise it for a while.
"Big sis Yuning!" A little girl cried out. It was none other than An Xueyan. The notion of having her appearance changed to let her stay in the place was tossed out the window. If the Eternal Heaven Family found out she was here she would be handed over. Best way to test if the girl was able to understand the situation she was in as well as to weed out any turncoats or spied in the Drak Moon Family's ranks. "I missed you!"
"Silly girl we looked for you everywhere!" Xia Yuning was happy she was safe. The question begged how she arrived in the Dark moon Family with no one the wiser. While she comforted the girl she kept her eye on Liang Yu. 'Why possible reason could he have for taking her?'
Liang Jian was talking a mile a minute about things. As well as a few business ventures that proved lucrative while he was away. But one that bothered Liang yu was the chained-up person who was brought in.
"Hmm, I thought you would have executed him for his crimes against.. well people in general."
"Hehe, we thought about it. But I figure you would want to speak with him first." Liang Jian chuckled a little. "I mean he is.. was a pillar of the family."
"Bah, besides grandfather, the children sired by him are trash." Liang Yu's eyes glowed a little in animosity. He rose from his seat walking over. "Did he confess to any crimes or anything else?"
"No." Linlin shook no. Lin Yin shaking as well. "No method worked on him."
"Haaa, how annoying." Liang Yu lifted the man's head up looking into his eyes. No fear but a lot of regrets. "Do not worry, I will make the Dark Moon Family a Great House that sets an example to others. No match how much I have to drench my hands in blood, a legacy afterward will last."
Removing the mouthpiece, Liang Zhan tian could speak.
"With your strength, how will you do it?"
"My strength and the strength of those who are with me. The strength of the populace is very powerful." Liang Yu gave a smirk. The old man had doubt on his face, so he decided to show him something. "You never made it to the 9th Heavenly layer, but I have."
*Woosh!* Before anyone could say anything, the entire room was washed over with his cultivation. It then spread throughtout the city before stopping.
The Fire Birds flew around cawing joyfully. Richer qi swirled around the area some more.
"I am just setting the stage for Liang Jian." Liang Yu's words were true. He was not interested in being a direct leader long term. It seemed extremely annoying after going over all the soul knowledge he took in. "I just want to give him something that can last and live comfortably doing my job."
"What job is that?" Liang Zhan Tian had a smile on his face despite the fact he was about to die. "Yo do not wish to rule a country. So what else is there?" His descendant placed his hand around his throat spreading flame all around the two.
"I am a doctor. A type of surgeon at that. I have to cut out all the cancer that appears." Instead of making a spectacle of the situation, he put enough pressure to kill the old man quickly. He tossed him into the Flame Vortex Core which was now empty. "So child, what are you going to do now?"
They watched as Liang Yu moved back to his seat. Liang Jian was now contemplating things over. Liang Yin only blinking at the death of his father for a bit. He knew the day was coming and was not angry or disturbed. Only thought was to protect his grandsons and the other descendants.
"I want to save my sister!" An Xueyan said. "I just don't know how."
"You need power or have the means to use others with power." Liang Yu's words were as neutral as possible. A few tensed up at his words. "As a child of that man, you must understand you are an heiress to the clan. If you decree it, I will move in a way to get your sister back as well keep you safe. But keep in mind I must make your sister pay for hitting me."
"No! Leave my sister alone!" An Xueyan was not understanding what was said before. But if someone at the 9th Heavenly Layer made a move against her sister, it would not be good. "I heard you are her senior brother, shouldn't help her?"
"Maybe, but the same could be said about her helping me. An Xueyun has not helped me in any way." Liang Yu shrugged at her. "I have only done this much due to Old Xu requesting me to."
"Then... what if I give you this to help her as well as me." Xia Yuning pulled out a bag with a few fruit inside. "These fruits to help us. Help save her sister and agree to my request and they are yours."
The fruit were the Divine Eclipse Fruit. Resemblance to a tan lemon really. The fruit lasted for a hundred years due to the vast amount of qi stored inside. The growth rate was poor by only producing once a year. But not having to eat for a year was a plus.
"Hmmm, very well then. But I must hear your request first."
"Stop moving against the North Guardian Lord's Mansion."
"Ah, yeah can not do that. Not a fan of turncoats and that would put my people in danger. Come up with something else." Liang Yu denied outright. No negotiation against the North Guardian Lord's Mansion. "Due hurry up."
"Fine! It was worth the shot!" Xia Yuning pouted. An Xueyun was slightly nervous. "I need help against Ling Yu, are you willing to go against that for these fruits?"
"Yup." He reached for the fruit with Astral Sense. A hand made of qi lifted the fruit towards him. Going against Ling Yu was already a plan in motion so no reason not to do it now. With a poke the seeds were taken out of all of them and stored away. "Gulp." Liang Yu ate one on the spot then divided them up of his high up people.
Two of the fruit were separated into pieces and given to Linlin to give to the most accomplished guards.
"Ye Yue..." Liang Yu turned to her, Ye Mu, and Ye Xingyun. "..take a few to go to these locations. A group of wolves are in that surrounding area. They are pretty strong tame them and come back with them. Take at least 15 members from the "Capture Specialization" group. Take Popeye and the others for aerial support."
"Yes, master." They saluted before leaving.
*Woom!* A wave from the Metal Seed isolated sound around Liang Jian.
"Liang Jian... this matter of her sister will need a stronger hand with some help. I want you to spearhead this with Lin Yin and the Shadow Group. Do not leave a trace behind and be very careful." He passed over a small plan that was made from his memory. It would require them to wait in ambush since there was no guarantee the intervention would happen as normal. "You must snatch her up here if rumors are true about the Family shipping her off to the Empire. This must not fail."
"I will get it done." Liang Jian nodded understanding how difficult it would be. " But Linlin is not coming with?"
"No, she is needed to make sure matters continue to operate smoothly for now. If not for the fact I was gone for so long and need to take care of some matters in-house and around the area, I would go with you all." Liang Yu thumped the chair with his thumb. "Make sure everyone is outfitted well."
"What will I do in the meantime?" Xia Yuning looked at him oddly. "And what about An Xueyan?"
"Head to the Academy in disguise. You need to learn to fight better and I am sure old Xu will like to see her." He pointed to An Xueyan. "Her disguise will be well enough. The daughter of gramps over here." His thumb hiked at Liang Yin. "I am sure that won't be a problem."
The room was silent for a bit. All eyes on Liang Yin who came out of deep thought.
"What is it?" Liang Yin blinked a few times as he was caught up. His face turning slightly red for some reason.
After discussing matters more, Liang Yu was ready to sleep. As in really sleep like he was dead. But something kept making him wake up. The Eclipse Fruit he ate did not go towards his core or his two Dantians.
It floated in another spot forming another Dantian. But the energy inside was strange. He couldn't get to move.
With a fret of nerves bothering him, Liang Yu went for a walk around the place. It wasn't long before he felt himself drawn to a certain area. The Dragon Martial Artist that protected the old man were on watch.
Unlike before the look they gave Liang Yu was one of respect for his presence and not his actual achievements.

Late that night-

"So Ransho Xing, ready to continue his next stage of treatment?" Liang Yu asked. The old man looked much better than before. In fact, he moved around a little but still didn't say a word. "I have a method to help pull the poison out a little more. But it has not been tested."
